I mean, the fifty year old could have a 3 year old or a 20 year old. 38 with a 15 year old.

Well, we talk about more than just kids. That discussion about whether or not Prince Charles is even remotely attractive, for example, only makes sense with reference to the participants' ages.

Why? You think have an opinion on his appeal no matter your age. I mean you can get a man's appeal with out actually being within his exact age range. You must be very young.

*sigh* it's as though the women's movement never happened on this board, honestly.

I don't think they are necessarily young. I am a younger poster. Most of my friends would not say something as ignorant as this. I think this poster is probably older, lives way out in the burbs, and thinks that only women who remember Lady Diana could have an opinion on whether or not Prince Charles is ugly. Since the younger ladies on here could not have enough life experience from under their rock to form their own opinions... Duh.

Honestly, I don't understand what age has to do with knowing that Prince Charles has a bird nose and was a pretentious asshole for thinking Camilla Parker Bowles had game over Princess Di... But that's just me!

I'm the poster who says only older ladies can possibly find P.C. attractive. This would be because, at 62, he is an elderly man. I don't think men of this age can broadcast any sort of general appeal once they've gone all turkey-necked.

I fail to see any sort of connection to the women's movement, but if you're stretching, then if anything, women should be pleased that we no longer have to admire older men who have aged past all outward indications of potency but consider themselves to deserve sweet tender young things for their old guy pleasures.

For the record, I'm 37, live in Adams Morgan, somewhat remember Diana, but mostly think the guy looks my dad. I assure you, no one has found *him* attractive in decades. Old guy-ness cancels out other possible qualities to all observers except, well, ladies in perhaps the upper reaches of middle age. These would also be the ones of an age to make allusions to "the women's movement" as if there was only one.

I'm 40, kids range from baby to 7 y.o.

I do not think the royals are particularly attractive, either generation. I do remember the wedding of Charles and Diana and think it's nice that my older daughters will get to see a royal wedding.

I'm 40 and think Pierce Brosnan (who is 57, a bit younger than Prince Charles) HOT. Do you think he is elderly? My own dad is Charles's age, by the way.

I am 26 with a two year old.

I thought there were more of you around my age...

There are a lot of things that make a LOT more sense, and this puts a lot of DCUM into better perspective for me now.

PB was hot from a young age. You can't say that for a dorky fug like Charles.

The discussion of Charles, age, and attractiveness reminds me of when I was in my 20s and teaching high school. I was chatting with some of my students after school and said that I had just seen the movie about C.S.Lewis and his relationship with an American divorcee, starring Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger. I mentioned that I thought Hopkins was handsome and romantic in the film.

The response from my disappointed female students: "Oh Miss Smith, we always thought you were one of us, but now we realize you're really old!"

Ditto and I am under 30. I also think Robert Redford, Tom Sellack, George Clooney, sometimes Daniel Day-Lewis are all hot in their own way. Does it help that they have been in some awesome movies?!?
