Did you retire over 10 years ago? Teachers have received a handful of emails from the county/admin over the past 5 to 10 years saying that it was too cold to go outside. |
Are you saying that bullying and risky behavior was better than what we do now? |
| Back from a 40 minute dog walk. Neither of us broke a sweat. Kids should be outside for recess and PE. If FCPS had a decent calendar they would by out at camp now or on a family vacation instead. |
You seem to be the same person who wrote this same type of comment yesterday. Your claim is you just walked for 40 minutes with a real feel of 100+ and didn't sweat at all? I think you're either a massive liar or are walking in shade the entire time, and basically a liar. |
Or their sweating system is defunct. In that case it’s even more dangerous to go out in this heat if you don’t sweat - sweat is your body’s natural way of cooling off. |
2 years ago. Those handful of emails saying it was too cold to go outside were sent due to extreme cold or wind chill warnings, not simply because the temperatures were below freezing. |
Exactly! Something is very wrong here - I was sweating within 2 minutes of sitting in the shade. My 30 minute run (at 730 am) soaked an entire shirt. |
(and no I'm not overweight or have any health issues) |
Some shade, some sun, just fit and took it at a leisurely 3MPH pace. |
Today is a heat advisory and outdoor recess has been cancelled due to a winter weather advisory - both use temperature as one of the contributing factors. |
| Recess is often cancelled during summer school due to extreme heat. It’s just happening now versus July. It’s nothing new. |
Yes. I’m the PP. You are restating the obvious. I’m not disagreeing with you at all. I know what today’s conditions are and yes, recess gets canceled due to temperature advisories. I even stated that. They don’t, however, send out a notice to stay inside simply because the temperatures are below freezing. |

+1 Such a liar. Probably doesn’t even have kids. |
