Generally there are to people who own SFHs in this area: high earning people in their 30s and government workers 50+ who bought when a now $1.4 million home when it was $200k.

There are also plenty of people in a third group: regular or even lower income earners who bought affordable SFHs EOTR or in PG County. Not surprising DCUM doesn't acknowledge their existence though.

We bought our house in 2004. It was our first house and we still live there. Brick rambler in Silver Spring.

It cost $305k and we got a 95% mortgage (80+15) with no PMI on a HHI of $82k.
