Klonopin prescribed for wine country flight - when is it safe to drink?

Anonymous
Skip the klonipin and just drink on the flight?

Just kidding.

I’ve taken .5 of Xanax for scary medical procedures like MRI in the morning and been fine to have wine by night. I know klonopin lasts longer so I’d probably not drink the same day you take it. But the next day I would be fine. Not a dr.

You should definitely get on something. You're not well.

Maybe I should take klonopin with wine as a chaser?

This! op needs to get clean.

No one asked you for your thoughts on the appropriateness of benzos.

It's the benzo fueled ride on the way to drink her ass off which gave me pause.

It's a trip to wine country, not a booze cruise in Cancun. Get a grip!

Can we please stop shaming others. The discourse is so toxic. God. Do unto others. Be kind.

Didn't you figure this out last year? https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1277582.page

I take Xanax for this issue and if I would give it 24 hours before I consumed alcohol (never mix) and make sure you are eating a lot and drinking water in the interim. Not sure for your particular medication, but my Xanax is usually out of my system the next day but I am dehydrated, which you do not want to be if you're going to wineries and drinking.

Have a nice trip.

Give it 12 hours and you're fine.

OP here. I have tried Xanax in the past with little to no effect.

Just so you know, Klonopin is even less effective. I am not sure why the doctor would even give you this.

Not OP. Stop giving medical advice. This a decision for OP’s doctor and OP. OP did not ask for feedback on whether the doctor chose the proper med.

I personally find klonopin to be extremely helpful. I will take it daily for multiple weeks and then go off for a period and haven’t personally had any issues with it.

Who is giving medical advice? I shared my experience after taking it for an entire year at the direction of MY doctor. He prescribed it for daily use at bedtime, which is borderline malpractice. So no, I will not stop sharing because it offends your fragile mind. It's also very rich that you would proceed to share YOUR experience with it just like I did. The stupidity is unreal.

I also used to take it at bedtime when I needed my mind to stop racing, and I used to drink at very unhealthy levels. I kicked both, no lasting effects.
