| A pair of black bike shorts from 30 years ago, they are so comfortable around the house. |
| Ripped Pearl Jam tee shirt from 1994. |
|
Bathrobe from the 80s.
|
| I have an LL Bean down vest from 1996 and a few Banana sweaters from the early 2000s. |
|
I have a couple of t shirts from high school, mid 90s. And a gorgeous wool coat that my mom bought, I think in the 80s? And handed down to me when she retired. I've had the lining replaced once, otherwise it's still in great shape.
My body changed so much after having kids that I really didn't keep anything from my youth other than those t shirts. |
| Souvenir tee shirt from vacation to Seattle in 1989. I was 8 years old. It was huge on me but I liked the design. I still wear it, no holes no pilling just good quality cotton apparently. And very soft. |
| An Eddie Bauer down winter coat from 1992ish. |
| A rain jacket , unbelievably white, that I bought in Norway in 1989. |
| My mother's fair isle Shetland wool sweater. She bought it in 1953. |
| These items will still be around in another 20 years unlike the crap sold today. |
Edit to add that today's crap will still be around, just taking space in a landfill. |
Me too! |
| My super cool ski jacket from my senior year of HS. Ppl stop me on the slopes. I have to tell them it’s 40 years old. |
| I have some LLBean, Lands End and J Crew items of clothing from 1997-ish and it is shocking how far the quality has fallen for the same brands today. |

I have two prized possession - my grandmother's pashmina shawl (1950s) and a black chantilly lace saree that was my mom's from 1970s.
I also managed to rescue tiny Basra pearls which were originally sown into one of my grandmother's dress (alas the moths ate most of the dress) and asked a jeweller to string it into a lace patterned necklace. |
