And last year they had 3 ‘30s play on ‘31 for all of NGLL! |

When a player registers for NGLL, or any standard tournament, they are required to provide their date of birth, graduation year, and USA Lacrosse membership number.
Because of that, both NGLL and the tournament organizers would know if an older player is participating on a team. I highly doubt the player’s parents are providing inaccurate information on the registration forms. At this level, I also doubt that NGLL or tournament organizers are particularly concerned if a team has one or two age-exception players. My guess is that this happens fairly often across a number of clubs that are simply trying to fill out their rosters as competitively as possible. My bet is that Pride falls into that category and is trying to field as many complete teams as possible (vs. intentional deception to win an NGLL B League game). |
I don’t think they need to put the graduation year for NGLL. The rules stipulate you cannot play down and are specific re what teams you can play up on (eg an A player can only play up on an A team, not a B team, etc). By submitting the roster, Pride would accept that they are following these rules. I think for Pride it’s a combo of a money grab and trying to make some weak teams better. At one point this year they had 26 girls rostered on their ‘30 team. They would have had more if they had not rostered a few on the ‘31 team, even though they were in 8th grade. Believe me, HS thinks she can outsmart the system and not get caught. The club has been going downhill since KM moved, so they’re basically grasping at anything to make them look better now. |
Spoken like the parent of a girl that sucks and needs to play down |
| SMH, 🛑 playa hatin |
I always forget how trashy it gets outside the beltway |
| So whats the outcome here? Has formal complaint been filed? Really want to see how this plays out and if any repercussions |
| What ever happened with this? |
| Curious also. Or do people just not care what Pride does, because Pride is a lame duck. |
| Any updates on the Pride situation? |
|
I’m sure Pride will try to drag this out or procrastinate on replying to NGLL or whatever bc they’ll need to send out team placement offers to people and will want to say the season will include playing on NGLL.
Note you still shouldn’t trust that bc for select ‘31 this year the offer (and same price that was charged to premier ‘31) said the season would include winter practices and NGLL, neither of which were true in the end. |
That's not cool. OK, so what teams are all the girls trying out for in the next few weeks? |
| 2033 M&D DC tryouts are tonight at WES. |
There is only 1 team left in NOVA and its STARS. The 3DVA team is 11 girls and not a real team as discussed. 3DVA has not played a game since May 10th when NGLL ended, so I don't know how anyone sees that as a choice. Pride will end up getting banned from NGLL next year. That leaves STARS who has played 10 games since NGLL ended including against top 20 teams in the country. It has a field house, full service bar, and restaurant which is a lifesaver with younger siblings stuck at 1.5 - 2 hour practices. People will disagree but usually don't provide much validation for other teams. Good luck everyone |
| Pretty sure both Pride and 3D played in tournaments this past weekend... |
