| Sidwell is the worst offender |
OP phrases the question correctly. The expensive schools are snobby and elitist. It’s just question of degree. Tuition rates are a good shorthand. |
Some think Sidwell is only embassy independent worth spending $60k a year. So of course rich and famous and super elites want to send their kids there. |
| The parents at WIS are (overall) very down to earth. But I recognize it's an international school with different all-around vibes. |
The rubber ducks are a hero thing, not a school or teenager thing. |
Jeep, not hero. |
+ 1 million |
They really aren't. Most long time Jeep owners hate the stupid duck thing. |
| Stone Ridge full of $$/label types |
The duck thing is a teen thing. I have seen them in Toyota RAV 4 and other vehicles. My teen thinks they are cute and has a huge collection (from years ago), but has no intention of putting them in her car, which she has been driving for a year. |
SJC and Goood Counsel are not. |
Agree. Just avoid the Chevy and Congo families and you should be okay. There are not as many at NCS as there are at STA. |
| All schools with beautifully manicured grounds that someone might mention as "elite" are going to draw more than their share of snobs after the cachet, whereas schools in run-down storefronts or colocated in aesthetically displeasing church buildings are going to have fewer. |
Yes then directly correlates with tuition $$ |
