| Today is the deadline to enter the lottery. |
As it should be. No one is stopping parents from the wealthier white neighborhoods from choose to transfer to more diverse schools. You aren't guaranteed a spot but it's likely. Instead, these parents want to force brown/black kids to be assigned to schools farther away from home, which means more time out of their day for transit and making it more difficult for lower-income parents to be active in their schools. These communities WANT to be in their neighborhood schools! They don't want to be pawns so that affluent white parents can offer their children a more "diverse" school experience. |
| Students should only be allowed one lottery spot per APS career, unless spots can’t be filled otherwise. |
This isn't who wants the diversity. The white parents who moved into the lower income neighborhoods with brown kids are the ones who want more higher income white kids (like them) and fewer of the low income brown kids. The low income brown families want to keep their closeby neighborhood schools that they can walk to. Like Randolph. |
That is a fake designation to give the ability to control the narrative. They are in different buildings, different teachers, different PRINCIPALS. There is no more overlap between HBW with WL than WL with WHS. |
You are wrong about this. As usual. |
How am I wrong? What is the overlap between HBW and WL? Are you going to say they can play on the SPORTS team? What a joke, that has nothing to do with the academic experience. But I notice your reply just made a claim and had no actual argument. As usual. |
So you cant know your lottery number until after they have been drawn; thats clear now. I’m sure its all above board then. Not to mention, who is going to keep track if suddenly there are 15 kids who were attending that werent announced in the lottery? |
| This crap again? Your obsession with HB is really disturbing |
Someone claimed that you know your lottery number before the draw; I asked how do I look that up? Do you have an answer? |
|
Let's move on from the troll. Good luck to everyone applying!
|
So you admit the PP was lying that the lottery was transparent? If you don' t know your number, its suspect. I'm actually not mad at HB per se; we go to WL, I just wish they had added 600 HS seats to HBW (still smaller than HBW and the planned middle school site that was suggested there), and WL could have remained a sane sized high school. But yeah, call me a troll for simply asking how to find my lottery numbers, and all you boosters suddenly realize you can't and PP lied. |
|
This thread is wildly paranoid.
We are in lottery for first time this year. Know it’s a very long shot, fingers crossed though. I wish there were more choices for middle school and more programs like HB available. Best of luck to all |
I was simply responding to a PP who said its easy to know your lottery number. Then they vanished. No one can answer, so its clearly a pretend lottery. |
Ok. |
