Sophomore bent on service academy won't pass PFT - college alternatives?

Anonymous
I personally know someone who did not follow through with the service academies because of the fitness requirements and a similar situation. She went to Purdue for engineering, had a great experience and is in a fantastic career. No regrets and she recommends Purdue to everyone she knows. She also loved it socially and said it was the perfect combination of academics but things to do.

She has a 1420 PSAT, 3.9 uw, 4.4 w. Looking for engineering. Mechanical? But she and we don't even have a clue where to start looking beyond the academies and major engineering colleges that she would have settled for for NROTC but isn't a fan of on their own. Cost isn't a huge issue since she has my GI Bill.

Where do we even start?

For one you need to to explain the US to your kid and that women are no longer welcome in our military you raised an idiot.

Two she’s not ready for college if she did not know this already

What’s wrong with you?

Amy engineering school is fine age will fail out anyway

You are a pathetic excuse for a human being.

A student disciplined enough to earn that score and those grades is disciplined enough to get in shape.

Improving her fitness will benefit her more than a degree.

Came here to suggest Norwich as well. Makes a lot of sense for a student with this profile interested in mechanical engineering.

Isn’t that a military school? Is this appropriate for someone that wants to do zero running?

She’s a sophomore - you are not “staring down application season”
