Yep. They look like kids esp to some of the old farts walking through to from work.

I also think the people sending untrained non-professionals to do police work in a city are to blame. As well as the lack of gun control.

its illegal, or was, to have a gun in dc.

this was an out of town/country shooter, not a DC resident.

Yet DC residents will be the ones to get Trump's retribution

We have plenty of gun control. These guns are illegal in DC.

One of the National Guard was in the helicopter to Medstar, the other guard went in an ambulance. Suspect was sent to GW.

Possible reports of two deaths may be premature.

So young and with no choice about leaving their families and jobs and deploying to DC.

My heart goes out to their families.

They aren't even really doing police work. They are just standing there to show presence as a deterrent against crime.

I rarely go downtown on weekdays, but had the afternoon off and was near the area where the shooting occurred just before it happened. In fact, I had just passed a National Guard member on my way into the Metro to leave and was thinking what a waste it was to have them here. It’s terrible, no matter how you look at it.

WSJ reported it. They are usually good at confirming.

National guard personnel in DC are not armed.

Arm them. That way there would have been 0 NG deaths and 1 bad guy dead.

Shame on the people who knowingly lied about two people dying. Keep your mouth shut if you don't know. Smh.

Why the F are they there? It's all to "protect" that felon who is orange bathing at his Fl resort today. Wanting to emulate what it's like in N korea is NOT okay
