my daughters roster has 22. they are all rostered but each game 4 will not play. it will not be the same 4 each game.

You should be embarrassed that you accept that for your daughter. Not a very good environment that fosters growth.

My daughter's roster has 16. All 16 dress and play including the 2 goalies. Cup flight. 11v11.

Good for you - you don't understand why other teams might have a different setup (My kid isn't playing in WAGS, but will be at the ECNL Wilmington event).

Then why bring it up in this thread? It had absolutely nothing to do with WAGS and n
how it would work. Y

You added nothing to the discussion. I suppose you feel like you got to "flex" somehow though. Now, jog on. You can take your smug feeling with you if you like.

See ya at edge.

Thank you for clarifying this. How do the parents and kids handle that situation? Were they made aware of it before joining the team?

Yes, we were made aware. This is common in GA and ECNL at U15 and older. There are some girls who are doing high school sports so 3 games in a weekend is a lot for them so they'll only play 2 games. We have 2 goalies rostered but 1 is committed already so she won't play in tourneys/showcases and only plays in league games.

You crap on big rosters, i give you a reason why they're not always as bad as they appear. I also point out that wags is crap now because ECNL decided to take the weekend from you. I get why you're upset, but you were the one starting this moral superiority with 16 player rosters. Different teams have different needs.

Let's be fair. NC is just U11-U14, so you are both a pair of ULittles arguing with one another.

It quite certainly does foster growth and many other positives as well. And having to actually show up to practices and work hard to get a spot on game day rosters each week. A 16 player roster means every kids plays whether they are contributing or working hard or not. If your roster of 16 has 16 fully dedicated players whose lives revolve around club soccer, that's great and more power to you but I am not "embarrassed" to accept this for my daughter. She is 16 and accepts it for herself, shows up and works hard and has never been left off a game day roster. And they are in the top flight of her age group for WAGS.

Our ECNL team has 26 but we have 4 injuries (U17) so only 22 eligible for WAGS. We live in driving distance of the tourney so if any of the girls are unable to make 1 game (some have school Monday) or if we end up with any injuries, we are fine. Otherwise, the coach will determine who plays based on practice attendance, workload (we had 2 games out of town last weekend) and other factors. It's really not that big of a deal.

U14 isn't U little sorry. WAGS is a shell of what it used to be.

The college coach list on file is so small, not worth the $ they ask for. I hope our team skips this next year. No value added on top of an already busy league schedule.

I saw some U13–U14 teams carrying more than 18 players, so that will definitely hurt them.

There are several ECNL teams still playing at WAGS. Nobody cares that VDA, which was in the 3rd or 4th bracket last year and still didn’t win, isn’t coming dude.
