| So how about that AI scout requirement for U13 and U14? |
Isn't that just for the 2nd teams? |
Our clubs email says it’s for both homegrown and academy |
Ours said both also |
My son got it for U16 homegrown. |
| Our 1st team just got the mandate, our 2nd team was told to do it weeks ago. |

You know, I was skeptical about Taka but now find it useful. And maybe this AI scout will surprise me.
But how does doing discrete exercises done in a controlled manner say anything about a players soccer abilities? I mean 20 juggles alternate, weak and strong foot? That’s such an insultingly low standard. What MLSNext player can’t do that? |
Ok I'll bite. For those not in the know, what is the "AI scout? |
not to quibble with your assessment, but before you film, it's 20 seconds, I think. Not 20 juggles. And I don't think it's just whether your player can do it, it's the control and compared with others. same with a 10m sprint. Of course everyone can do it, but how do they compare. |
Ok, I stand corrected about the juggles. Still don't think it's that high of a standard (I'm pretty sure everyone on DS's team can do it) but that makes sense about it being an exercise in seeing how you compare with others. I *still* don't think this is a complete assessment bc what's the point of these skills/athleticism if you don't know how to use them effectively in games, no? But maybe they'll combine it with Taka scores so figure stuff out. Who knows. I think I'm just annoyed having to spend more time on this just so DS can play. |
