I’m also not surprised that the truth about her absence is that she’ll only be gone like 36 hours and will be retrieving her kid. I would have been very surprised given how she’s been conducting herself if she just flew off for a week or two for vacation in the middle of all of this. Cut the woman a break.

No way.

She is useless.

She has had so many years to get crime in DC under control. Homeless encampments and trash everywhere. Groups of teens shooting at each other routinely. The wharf now has a curfew for kids and it’s still not safe. My employee lives in navy yard and is moving due to all the breaking and thefts. Those are on the rise.

Nah, no break for her as she watched the city decay under her watch.

She irreparably damaged upper NW with the out of control rent voucher program. Please send some feds our way please.

Or, better yet, you should just move to the suburbs,

Wait, doesn’t the city want responsible renters in high density housing on major public transportation routes like the Red line and Ct Ave? Or does the city prefer losing that tax base and increasing car commuting from the suburbs?

I believe Bowser's greatest work was as Chairwoman of the Re-Open DC Committee. Perhaps she should resign as Mayor and dedicate herself to that full time.

This is the leadership DC voted for. And next time, they won't do any better and will probably do worse, since their only criteria is that the person be seen as a demographically rare collectible with left wing views.

According to Facebook, she went to pick up her daughter at camp. In Martha's Vineyard, of course.

Without getting too personal, who sends their elementary school aged child that far away for a multiweek sleepaway camp?

Tons of rich people do that. Have you never met an upper class DC child?

I was never a Bowser fan. But what’s being said about her on this thread is priceless. In the past she was panned by the left in DC for trying to reign in the council’s more progressive crime policies. Now she’s being slammed by the right for not being tough enough. The poor woman can’t win.

A single mom and lifetime government employee sends their kid to camp on MV? Wut?

She has one child and MV is a well known black UMC vacation spot. This is no different from a white kid from this area going to summer camp in Mass.

I'm the OP. Never panned her for not being tough enough. Panned her for leaving the district during a time of duress. Maybe others have and I missed it, but it seems like you are framing the thread incorrectly.

And you posted what turned out to be false information but never retracted it.

She’s not Jewish, but every Jewish person I know send their kid to sleepaway camp every year.

She left DC. What was false? Her story about the daughter came out suspiciously after she got called out.
