weird abdominal symptom - feels like a baby kicking

Anonymous
I have this too. Not pregnant. Got an IUD about 6 months ago and have had regular periods. Mine feels like a muscle spasm. It comes and goes and usually does it at night. I do have an umbilical hernia that I haven't had fixed from my first pregnancy 5 years ago. I've also had an eye lid twitch lately. I will try the asefotida remedy if it starts back up again.

Did anyone ever figure this out?

Ok so I'm not the only crazy one here 🤣. My daughter is 10, and I never completely lost my baby belly, and randomly have always had these kicking movements since! My pregnant belly was huge so I just always joke around that the other twin was never removed during the c-section!
The kicking has been driving me nuts lately, I recorded my belly moving for over a minute last night. It's very visible where it's moving, and just below my ribs on the left. I have had ultrasounds somewhat recently not because of this sensation, but because of a cyst found on an MRI of my hips. When I finally got the ultrasound, the original cyst was gone and there was a small one on the other side, but was told nothing to worry about. I do also have a hernia that began when I was like 6 months pregnant? I would say my kicking/fluttering mainly surfaces soon after eating.

IT'S GAS, PEOPLE.

NOT A MEDICAL MYSTERY. DIGESTION.

Happens to me too! It weirded me out when my son was little, because it was such a familiar feeling but I couldn’t recall ever having felt it before being pregnant. Now that he’s 7 and I’m definitely not ever going to be pregnant again, it just makes me smile when it happens - a sweet reminder of when he was growing in there. šŸ™‚

Are you kidding me??? Yes, I agree that's probably what it is, but my digestion didn't do this before pregnancy!!! It literally LOOKS like an elbow is poking out of me!!! And stays in the same general location but moves back and forth in the area. That's normal GAS?! 🤣. I recorded it moving around for an entire minute, but it was going on for hours on and off! Literally days at a time this time around!
My guess is above poster is male, thus having ABSOLUTELY NO clue what we're even talking about 🤣

I started having this same issue a year after I had my last child (Dec. 2010) via c-section. I had abdominal pressure and fullness, bloating, lower left abd pain and there would be times (esp when I was having a BM) that I could actually visualize my abdomen shape-shifting like something was trying to get out. I initially blew it off as a temporary side effect as I had never had a c-section before, but after 2 years I finally decided to get it checked out. Well....its 8 years later and I still don't have a diagnosis. I've seen so many doctors (PCP, OB/Gyn, GI, Ortho, Oncology), but so far none have been able to make a good diagnosis and the issue still persist. Ive been diagnosed with and treated for UTI, redundant colon, fibroids, ovarian cysts, abdominal hernia, IBS, muscle spasms, uterine adhesions, endometriosis and adenomyosis. I've had MRI's, CT scans, ultrasounds, xrays and tons of blood work done over the last few years. I also had a thorough gyn exploratory surgery and a colonoscopy, but nothing significant was found during either procedure. I've learned to manage and deal with the symptoms as best I can because I don't think I'll ever get an accurate diagnosis. I was actually starting to think that all the drs that've been treating me over the years were YouTube docs...lol, but I'm reassured to know that there are so many others that are/have been suffering with these same symptoms and have yet to be diagnosed.

Yes, that's normal gas & digestion. It looks different because your abdominal muscles have been wrecked from pregnancy. What used to be "girdled" in is no longer. And no, I'm a female. Mom of 4, actually.

Can be a hernia or an aneurysm. Get checked out. I've got a doc appt next Thursday. Same problem everyone else is describing but I know I have both an umbilical and a hiatal hernia so my guess is that may likely be the culprit.

Pelvic congestion syndrome. Basically varicose veins in your uterus and around your ovaries. Often hard to diagnose.

I had phantom kicks for several years after my last baby. Doctor said gas but I don’t get them anymore now that my youngest is a tween.

I just had my gallbladder removed two weeks ago and I’m feeling ā€œphantom kicksā€ where it was removed
