Restaurants are through the roof.

Restaurant workers are the most well organized politically. These guys always manage to get pay increase.

Some days I wonder if I should work as a server instead..And tips are now kind of mandatory.

The average salary of wait staff is $34,000 a year.

So yeah, if you can’t find a job to make more than that, you’re probably smart enough to believe what you wrote.

It's either intellectual malpractice or extreme stupidity to claim that tariffs are not going to raise prices.

Bananas have already increased in prices.

The things that are gonna increase are every day items like toothpaste, soda in a can because of aluminum, shampoo, soap, toilet paper, paper towels, napkins.

The next will be increased in the cost of clothing. Fall clothes were imported in May before tariffs . You won’t see the increase until winter clothes.

Also wears the promise that everything was gonna drop in prices? We haven’t seen a drop in anything. Not eggs, not gas nothing.

Agree with this except come on—gas and eggs decreased in price.

Agree that the other priceeffects would come soon. Suppliers had inventory + increased inventory given all the tariff talks. That inventory will diminish.

Gas prices will be heading higher with Russia tariffs. Oil just crossed $70/barrel. Honestly, our country needs like $70-$75/barrel oil prices to make domestic production profitable.

We all are. If not evident yet, it will be.

It won't affect the top 1% because they can pay the higher prices. It will impact everyone else.

At least Ford is eating some.

It's insane what we are doing to our own car manufacturers. Imposing 50% tariffs on their input costs, which ironically makes steel, aluminum and copper that much cheaper to the rest of the world so now the Japanese and European car manufacturers can eat the 15% tariff because their production costs are going down. Oh yeah...we also slapping a 35% tariff on auto components from Mexico and Canada even though the factories are oftentimes owned by US car companies.

Not to mention, that China is just eating our lunch with electric cars and dominating the rest of the world. Even China knows how stupid it is to slap tariffs on all the inputs that they need to leapfrog the us (semiconductors et al)...they are subsidizing their companies in AI, nuclear energy, solar energy, electric auto manufacturing, etc.

UPS earnings guidance going forward was dismal. Stock price way down after already being way, way down. UPS reported fewer shipments because people are not buying. Those Shein and Temu packages are not as abundant as they were before that additional 30% tariff. Whirlpool also down with poor guidance regarding future guidance.

Ford and GM taking billion dollar hits due to the tariffs. GM said they were going to take 1/3 of the it, raise the prices for the consumer to take 1/3 of the hit, and let AI absorb 1/3 of the hit. That last 1/3 means job cuts at GM.

Josh Hawley wants a $600 stimulus for Trump voters to offset the increase of goods due to the tariffs. So, when a Democratic majority comes into office, are they allowed to provide stimulus money to Democratic voters? Stupid MOFO, that Hawley. Anyway, I guess this was his way of admitting that the tariffs is a tax hike to consumers.

Gas in 2016 was $2.14 and eggs were $1.68

So you’re going by the end of Obama 2.0/beginning of Trump 1.0? And conveniently ignoring Biden?
