The only thing "the kids will remember forever" is that Billy's bday party tucked at the end b/c the party favor was a dumb card with some long-winded note. |
A $5 McDonald’s gc |
A cape with his name on the back. |
Knitted Where's Waldo hats. The child's grandma knitted them.. The party theme was Where's Waldo |
Love this one!!! Get crack in’ grandmas!!! |
Hahaha! Yup! Stop it with the self-righteousness. Kids are kids- they like junk, across all classes! |
+1 My kids has gotten through the years personalized: Tote Makeup kit Lululemon water bottle T-shirt Sweatpants Pajamas Flip-flops Bracelet making kit Silk pillow Bath bomb kit All with her name on them. I always thought that was too costly, but I'm the book and blowpop mom. |
Will keep that hat forever! They all looked so happy & cute running around in them too ![]() |
I'm sorry you think 12 year old kids don't have the ability to understand the challenges of the world around them and be inspired by the possibility of fixing them. And if they can't comprehend a card at age 12, they have bigger issues than being disappointed about a party favor. |
His favorites: basketball wrist bands, Gatorade water bottle with his name decal on it
My favorite: an age appropriate book and a piece of candy |
I guess a pack of baseball cards for my son who happens to be a baseball junkie, but usually all my kids really care about is the candy in a goodie bag. The rest ends up very quickly in the trash. |
Pokemon cards for my DS who was obsessed at the time - many of his friends (the other attendees) too. |
Your kids should come to my parties. We always do gift bags, and it's always the birthday kid's favorite candies. |
Whatever we made/used for the party. Here are some Ideas From my girls over the years……
Slime - from slime making party cookie cutter and apron - from cookie decorating party Stuffed animal - build a bear party Painted nails - salon party Painted canvas - painting party Boa and crowns - princess party Personalized pillow case - sewing party Bottle top necklaces and stickers and popcorn tin - movie party |
This would be far more appropriate for something like a christening, first communion, mitzvah etc…it’s just simply off and self congratulatory to do this as a favor for a 12 year old birthday party. You can rationalize is all you want but I can guarantee you none of those 12 year olds sit around and think about that card talking about a charity they gave money to. |
