Not exactly. Her father was a terrible human being. Probably a psychopath. He destroyed the lives of everyone around him. Her mother was such an alcoholic that she lived with her father who neglected and abused her.

Definitely a narcissistic psychopath. He was enraged his young daughter won an Oscar, and he didn't, and exposed her to all kinds of terrible things. He did drugs with his drug addict child. He was an abusive toxic POS to the women in his life and his children, and it's a miracle any of his children survived his "parenting." Barely survived at that.

Seriously? He abused her and cheated on her, culminating with stealing as much of her estate as possible. He was a monster but like most narcissists could be very charming. This seriously messed with his loved ones' heads.

So why did she stay?

I think she was a drug addict or alcoholic by tye end. She did leave him for a while. She then dated a director who got a restraining order against her. I think Ryan destroyed her too. I think he was a big drug user all his life.

I am glad Tatum O'Neal is doing well. I agree she had the childhood from hell.

That said, Patti Smyth--the other mom in that picture of bride with the groom's mom and stepmom--is the one who looks good to me. She's considerably older than Tatum.

From what I recall from various autobiographies Tatum was still a minor when her dad got with Farrah. He moved out of their home and left Tatum and her younger brother alone to fend for themselves. They had no adult supervision, often didn't have money, and neither dad nor Farrah wanted them around. It was true that he was furious that she won and Oscar and took it out on her. He had been a boxer and would punch his son.

I love the whole bohemian-meets-Old West vibe. Bride's gown was gorgeous, as was the orange gown on Emily McEnroe! Tatum's dress was a bit frowsy, but overall, she looks impressively healthy for someone who has been through so much, which is the most important thing.

The McEnroe kid who married her is batting way above his class. He's doofy and balding.

Emily McEnroe is quite pretty too. Love those brunettes.
