Which VA Public is most welcoming to conservative students?

Not quite. He won something like 40% of college educated men.

MAGA has a viewpoint and is not interested in debate or discussion. When they reply to anything non-MAGA, they generally respond to a left-wing, lunatic straw man, not to the actual person or question. This type of person will not fit well at any highly selective college because great colleges are places of skepticism and open-ended inquiry. MAGA hates the very essence of that, and the university will shun them for their hate. MAGA fits best where everyone is singing from the MAGA hymn book and not questioning anything. Liberty is a good fit.

Traditional conservatives have a bias, but they are still thinking adults and willing to thoughtfully engage other viewpoints. They value the university’s open inquiry and a highly selective university will love them back for it. Go to UVA or WM.

DP. I got a good giggle out of the bolded, considering you just described liberals in absolutely perfect projection. If one doesn't agree 1000% with liberals, they are shunned, mocked, and shouted down. At this point, we've all witnessed this terrible behavior. But nice try.

What is the old saying..... if you are 20 years old and not a liberal you have no heart. And if you are 50 years old and not a conversative you have no brain.

Go walk around campus or grounds in a maga hat and let us know how that went for you.

MAGAs aren’t conservative. They are a fascist cult of personality whose adherents tried to violently overthrow the elected government of the United States.

- A conservative

To be sure, everyone hates MAGA everywhere. Anyone who self-identifies as a freak and cult member is inviting the scorn.

Yeah, it’s so terrible how liberals show up to polling places carrying guns to try to intimidate fellow citizens exercising their right to vote. Also terrible how they keep banning book. And how they make laws that you can’t say you believe certain things if you want a state job. And terrible how they continue to lie about stolen elections despite their absurd claims being mocked in more than 60 court verdicts. Oh, wait…

Most college students, anywhere, are not "middle of the road/moderate." Never have been, probably never will be.

That's strange, when I went to college we were all more concerned about money and if we could get a job when we graduated.

Most public colleges in Virginia will have variety of students with different political beliefs OP.

+1
I love the posters who insist all college students are liberal. Nope.

Those “conservative” college kids will change their tune quickly when they need an abortion.

My kid was a “conservative” and went to a conservative leaning college. After a year at a more conservative school, she is more liberal than I am. I think she was not totally left and thought she was conservative until she truly understood what it meant.

That makes no sense unless you are redefining or twisting the meaning of conservatism. Conservatism classically includes among its tenets the rule of law, fiscal responsibility, limited central government, defense of democracy, and free trade. On all of those MAGA is way, way out of line.

No. MAGA is fascism. It's not compatible with conservativism, so you have to choose--you can't be both.

Most of the conservatives I know (and I know a lot) are not MAGA.

There will be conservative kids at every VA school. Today’s youth are trending more conservative, but VT will most likely be the most conservative due to the Corps of Cadets

There should be a difference between being conservative and being accepting of conservative students.
