Instead of having red and white for the girls teams and black and white for high school, they've changed it to Premier (the A team) and Select (the B team) across the years

That’s a tight score for playing HOCO. Though HOCO is ranked (#21) a little higher than their club’s older teams usually see. M&D is ranked 2nd. 1st ranked team is Long Island Jesters.

Hoco is good but that ranking is inflated

Interesting conclusion from a 1 goal loss to the #2 team.

That is because usually around 7th/8th grade the best players start to leave for other clubs. It happens every year.

Coppermine Black 11 Carroll Manor 7
BLC 10 Rebels 3

Regarding other posts about rankings those will be significantly adjusted after this Spring. You will see some big movements up (and down) the board over the next couple of months.

Who has Hoco played, or beat, to justify their ranking heading into NGLL?

Well not so much who have they beaten but they lost 5-2 to the #1 team back in November and 7-6 this past weekend to the #2 team. So if anything they might actually be a bit underrated at #21.

Biggest spread of opening weekend was an 11-1 victory by MD United over Broadneck.

Stars playing a doubleheader in week two against two top ten teams in M&D and BLC are going to be some big time battles and will see how the best in VA lacrosse holds up against top MD clubs.

Considering that Stars lost to the BLC B team in the fall, I am guessing not well.

Very true. They just moved to Division A so I’m thinking Stars will lose both games by a wide margin.

You weren’t wrong. Stars lost to BLC 10-4 (this game was very competitive for a half before BLC pulled away) and M&D 17-3. M&D is one of the best middle school aged girls teams I have ever seen.

In other games yesterday Hero’s beat Rebels 17-3 and BLC beat 3D 9-7.

BLC currently on top of the standings at 3-0.
