Very grave and scary times. I fear this is a dress rehearsal for what Trump and his cronies want to do next. |
Interesting that this is happening while tanks are rolling into dc. |
They are allowed to cover their faces. Legal They have badges under their jackets or out of sight until they reach their subject. Legal They are not apprehending citizens. Your claim is pure bullshit. |
Yup. While I don't think the two were coordinated, I do think that Trump and his fascist sidekicks will derive extra pleasure from the juxtaposition of the images of troops on the ground in LA and the display of military might in DC. MAGA will love it. What a special present for a special boy's birthday! |
Welcome to trumps America. |
DP. They may be allowed to cover their faces and to show their badges at the last minute, but they can be deceptive at times. There have been several reported instances where U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have conducted operations in plain clothes, sometimes with masks, and without clearly displaying badges or identifying themselves, leading to concerns about transparency and public safety. Below are examples based on available information: *Memphis, Tennessee Restaurant Raid (February 2025) Surveillance video from TACOnganas Memphis showed four masked men in plain clothes apprehending restaurant workers. The restaurant’s social media post noted that the men wore no uniforms, did not show badges or IDs, and left no identifying information or paperwork. City officials later confirmed this was an ICE raid. This incident sparked local outrage due to the lack of clear identification, raising fears of potential impersonation amid reports of others posing as immigration officers. *Boston, Massachusetts Courthouse Arrest (May 2025) In a chaotic scene outside a Boston courthouse, ICE agents, including one wearing a balaclava mask and plain clothes, arrested Teodoro Dominguez Rodriguez, a 41-year-old Honduran, after his misdemeanor assault charge was dismissed. Videos verified by CNN showed federal agents handcuffing Rodriguez and escorting him into a vehicle. Local police confirmed the agents showed badges to a bailiff before the arrest, but their plain-clothes appearance and use of a mask caused confusion among bystanders. *San Diego, California Restaurant Raid (May 2025) At Buona Forchetta, an Italian restaurant in San Diego, ICE agents conducted a raid just before the dinner rush. Agents were described as wearing heavy tactical gear, with some using masks, which San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria and local council member Sean Elo-Rivera criticized as intimidating. The operation led to a confrontation with an angry crowd, and the use of masks was highlighted as a concern by local officials. ICE Acting Director Todd Lyons defended the use of masks, citing safety concerns due to death threats and online harassment faced by agents. *Massachusetts Community Incident (May 2025) Posts on X reported an incident in a Massachusetts community where plain-clothed ICE agents, refusing to show badges, targeted a local family, specifically a mother. Residents called local police, who reportedly attacked the family’s 16-year-old daughter during the encounter. The lack of visible identification by ICE agents fueled community alarm and accusations of operating in a “police state.” *General ICE Tactics (Reported Trends) The Immigrant Defense Project has documented ICE’s use of “ruses,” where agents wear plain clothes, sometimes with vests labeled “POLICE,” and may not display ICE badges. For example, in one case, an individual (MG) was lured to a job site by someone posing as a potential employer, only to be arrested by plain-clothed ICE agents who revealed their identity only after asking for IDs. Another case involved plain-clothed agents visiting a home at 7 a.m., asking for a targeted individual without initially identifying themselves as ICE. These tactics, including minimal or no display of badges, are part of ICE’s officially sanctioned strategies to locate and arrest non-citizens. *On March 25, 2025, Rumeysa Ozturk, a Turkish doctoral student at Tufts University, was apprehended in Somerville, Massachusetts, by approximately six plainclothes ICE agents, some wearing masks or balaclavas, with minimal or obscured badge display, causing initial fears of abduction. Surveillance footage showed the agents, who identified themselves only as "the police," quickly surrounding her, taking her belongings, and handcuffing her without immediately explaining her detention. Context and Concerns: These incidents reflect a broader pattern of ICE agents using plain clothes and, in some cases, masks to conduct operations, often leading to public confusion and fear. Critics, including Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, have raised concerns about the lack of clear identification, arguing it heightens risks for targeted individuals, bystanders, and agents themselves. The use of masks has been particularly contentious, with ICE defending it as a safety measure due to threats against agents, while community advocates argue it undermines trust and transparency. |
The fed areas of DC are being fenced off and restricted. Why would you fence off a parade for the military if the population supports the military? |
Byngo. I wonder if this crowd pooped their pants when Bush sent troops to LA to keep the peace in 1992. |
How do they expect 500 Marines to "control" a city of 10 million, many of whom believe in the second amendment? |
The problem with these types of protests is that they are uncoordinated and poorly managed and seem to lack leadership. When there is no official spokesperson or organization the peaceful protesters are not able to become separated from the looters. |
This isn't a dress rehearsal. The parade on Saturday bring tanks and troops into DC. |
Rachel Maddow:
"January Trump approval on the economy: plus +8.24 points Today Trump approval on the economy: minus -15.75 January Trump approval on inflation: plus +1.99 Today Trump approval on inflation: minus -22.24 So clearly it's time to deploy the Marines in L.A.?" |

Our brilliant administration managed to forget that the National Guard needs food, fuel, and lodging. |
He certainly lost the election after that, just like Trump did after the riots in 2020. Btw, the only people that are “pooping their pants” are the MAGAs that are clearly afraid of everything under the sun. Well, and the president, but that’s literal ![]() |
Trump escalated what started as a peaceful protest. Classic dictator move. Escalate a situation where he then gets to pound his chest and send in the troops on his own citizens. Of course, he only thinks red states are his citizens. This is frightening AF. We should all be afraid of what Trump will do to anyone who disagrees with him. |
