Is city scent of DC Pot now?

I know a few black matriarchs--think 50-70 y.o. women who have tried mightily to raise their kids and grandkids in a state of violence and poor economic prospects. All of them voted against legalization.

I'm not sure how adding the threat of arrest and prosecution to this litany would improve things, though.

Idiots.

The DC government permitted a dispensary literally between two UDC student buildings. The students at a school designed to lift the marginalized out of poverty (with our tax money) now has easy access to cheap, abundant, legal weed. I don’t want to hear about institutional racism anymore.

Opposing the legalization of cannabis is a form of white supremacy.

LOL. A+ trolling. Would read again.

Me too. And it is every city. It's like the 60s with cigarette smoke all over again.

And driving while getting high!

But that’s OK because you know, the citizens voted for it and you know “equity”.

DC is trash. The people who live here are Trash. How the hell did they pass this?

DC sucks.

Actually, it WAS a social justice victory for White Liberals. It helped quench their thirst for their white guilt + virtue signaling. None of that is actually intended to help blacks, but in their mind it is, because they want to be seen as "saviors" for blacks/minorities.

Also, it's about "equity" since minorities were committing the crime the most so instead of them stopping doing it, we'll just decriminalize it. Liberal thought process, just like with school standards

Former Speaker of the House, John Boehner, one of the most conservative Republicans and about white guy from Ohio, was the biggest champion of legalizing marijuana.

This is a big Yawn, since we know this is most pervasive in Democrat cities/urban areas, and we know the usual stance; racist to criminalize weed, disproportionate crime, it's not hurting anyone etc.
Bottom line is this was never accepted in the suburbs, and was guilted to be accepted in the cities by Democrats.
If a Republican ran on criminalizing weed, it would get great support, and guess who would be insanely against it and call it racist etc??? Democrats!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA I live in Frederick County and have a bridge to sell you. Lots of weed shops and plenty of pick up trucks and rednecks getting their grass there every day.

Is the a weed dispensary on the campus of Frederick Community College like there is at UDC?

No idea and it doesn't matter. Your premise that only the delinquent black youth in DC are smoking weed is ridiculous. Because that's exactly what you were saying. Maybe get our of your racist bubble and you'll see plenty or rural rednecks like their THC too.

Until those women finally have the courage to stop voting Democrat then they have nowhere to to look but in the mirror.
Want to see your non-street thug black kids/grandkids have a better chance ? Then allow the law to capture and deal with the bad kids that are making it dangerous, and keep them locked up or with proper sentencing, not slaps on the wrist. You can do everything right, but if you keep sending a wildebeast into the river with Alligators, they'll get eaten.

Want them to be good students? Then vote against the dumbing down of public schools, elimination of TAG programs, DEI, the handouts that the Democratic party and ideology has become synonymous with. Anyone you talk to now knows the 90 average at a public school now is perhaps equivalent to a 75 average at a Private/Catholic school at best.

Until then, their complaints have to start with themselves.

That's already happening. I think people voted for legal cannabis bc people were using it anyway. It's no worse than alcohol. So why should we be punishing these people and not drinkers, who generally do far more damage to themselves and their communities? However, I don't think people were well informed about how damaging cannabis is to young brains. And I don't think it occurred to anyone that the entire city would smell like skunk at 9 AM every single day.

In retrospect, legalization should have been accompanied by extremely strict age restrictions - no one under 21 at least, though preferably 25. And smoking in public should have remained illegal, with maybe some tax or price incentives that favored gummies, which don't stink up the entire city. Plus stepped up enforcement for anyone smoking and driving - hefty fines and jail time. Obviously, this will never come to pass bc racism I guess. It's a shame this city can't be practical about things without race getting thrown into everything. But the prevalence of smoking weed among young black teenagers is ridiculous. And that is not a win for the city.

Yes, and that's all you Democrats can say. Meanwhile you're losing across the board, dying on the hill of the smell of weed everywhere and dumbing down of education and defending criminals. Keep saying that, keep being AOC claiming those robbing their local Walgreens "just need to feed their families"

The problem is that even when both products are used responsibly, in densely populated cities, marijuana IS worse than alcohol. Since marijuana is most frequently smoked, in apartment buildings and row houses it’s unavoidable for marijuana users to impact their neighbors. Not the same if you have a couple of beers after work.
