Summary ? |
I think Fetterman's stroke happened on election day. Unfortunately, I can't think of a system that removes elected officials from office without voters voting that doesn't involve other problems. I think the clear lesson after Biden, Trump, Fetterman, Feinsten and so on is that a candidate's physical health needs to become a priority for voters. For senate, that's a six year term. I don't think it's unreasonable to know exactly how fit someone is for a six year term. |
This is both parties. Chuch Grassley is 90. Mitch McConnell is 83 and in very poor health. Admittedly, though, we have a lot of oldies in the Reps. |
I have been to meetings with Fetterman.
No bueno. |
Fetterman was a known loose cannon LONG before his stroke and Democrats knew it. For instance, as was widely reported during his campaign, he pulled a shotgun on a Black jogger back in 2013: https://www.inquirer.com/politics/election/john-fetterman-black-jogger-2013-shotgun-20220425.html
Despite this, Democrats still pushed him as a candidate because winning was all that mattered. Then he had his catastrophic stroke and Democrats, including many of you here on DCUM, attacked as "ableist," "fascist," and "MAGA" anyone who pointed out that this addled man with a history of violence was in no shape to be in the Senate. Now that he isn't towing the party line, Democrats suddenly pretending to have just "discovered" that this impaired, aggressive man with poor judgment is who they already knew he was. Keep him or get rid of him, but don't pretend you didn't know full well who he was and don't pretend any kind of principle beyond punishing apostates for not voting lockstep is at work here. The Democratic base might develop amnesia on cue, but everyone else sees how Democrats ignored every red flag to put a dangerous person in the Senate. |
toeing |
Are you joking? How many DUIs does Pete Hegseth have? And domestic violence accusations? And yet Trump appointed him as Sec Def AFTER these incidents because he looks good chattering on Fox. |
Fetterman shows us:
Liberal + brain damage = conservative. |
English, please. |
DP. Can you explain how this relates to Fetterman? Are you saying Fetterman should be allowed to continue unchecked because Hegseth is? |
At least Fetterman was popularly elected. Nobody elected Hedghog's dumb drunken ass. |
So, since nobody elected Hegseth, that means what in regards to Fetterman? |
Someone has the claws out . He would’ve made a great potential in 2028. Yet another one with sanity on the left along with Cuomo but of course leave it to Dems to eat their own |
it is english - the pp said "towing" the line - it's "toeing" |
He would have before his stroke. Have you listened to him lately? I am telling you - I was the biggest Fetter-head. I thought he was the future of the party. He literally cannot complete a sentence now. I hope we have enough experience with this sort of thing to not go down this road again. It's not a coordinated hit when one publication puts out a big story, then others jump on board. That's just how journalism works. The NY Times isn't going to be like, "oh, we don't need to report this big story - NY Mag's got it." No, they see NY Mag has a big story, and they're like - oh, this seems important and people are interested; guess we'll do our version of it, too. You don't need a hit on Fetterman. He is doing the hit on himself. I hope he is primaried - or steps down (though this I doubt since his judgment seems impaired). He's not able to do his job. |
