You are a complete moron. Darwin at work if you avoid cancer screening and then get cancer. Best of luck. |
It’s hard for you to understand?? Are you unaware that colorectal cancer is the leading cause of cancer among young people? Maybe get your anxiety under control and gain some knowledge about this type of cancer and the procedure. |
There are other options. Cologuard and a yearly test you can do. Send in a sample each year. If either of these come up with something, colonoscopy is next. I’m not a Doctor so if my information is dated, someone please correct me. |
| I’m having my first colonoscopy this summer. What are you allowed to not allowed to eat in the days leading up to it? |
Your Dr will give you instructions. Follow them. For me, my Dr said keep it bland for the few days prior. No seeds etc. The diet was not restrictive at all IMO. |
Cologuard is better than doing nothing but is not as accurate and is designed to detect not prevent. With a colonoscopy they will take our precancerous polyps if they see any. A colonoscopy is an inconvenience for sure and not the most pleasant life experience but it is really not a big deal at all. It is nuts to me that people avoid these tests. We are so lucky to live in a time and place where this is available to us. |
Seeds, nuts, high fiber, red things. They'll give you a detailed list. |

A colonoscopy is 3 to 7 days of attention every 5 or 10 years. 2 are the prep. The rest is up to you. Low residue is what we do for 3 to 5 days before prep. No high fiber cereal or bread, modest veg and fruit. The standard American diet, lolz. No red or purple anything.
Low residue leaves less to poop. |
