First Republicans will lower the working age so that American kids can take the illegal immigrant jobs, then discard them when the robots take over.

Yes. Its called chores.

Not sure where you live, but in the United States kids can do chores at home and for neighbors without getting a work permit.

Working for money at fast food and chicken processing plants aren't typically considered "chores."

Liberals are upset about not having illegal immigrants to do yard work and house work.

It has killed more than 1.2 million Americans and more than 7 million globally. The world shut down. School shut down. Graduations, weddings, and funerals did not take place as they should. Kids didn’t get to say goodbye to classmates and teachers who they might never see again. As a teacher, I can confirm the learning loss is still being felt, but in a different way each year, as it depends on what developmental level the kid was when covid hit.

Electronics has changed absolutely everything about childhood. Kids at all ages are not sheltered from anything, and they get no break from any bullying or drama taking place at school or anywhere else in real life.

As a society, we have basically ignored all of this. We never helped kids process the fear, confusion, and loss they experienced during covid. We aren’t giving them enough monitoring and guidance on electronics.

Our youth is experiencing a mental health crisis. I fear how this will manifest as they get older.

The backlash is retaliation against the Democrats who mandated the massive shutdowns. Most young people are paying attention to the science. They know tony fauci never was ‘the science’.

That was the most predictable comment. It baffles me that you blame Fauci when every renowned science in the planet agreed and the shutdown was happening around the world.

Young people know that science is ever changing. They wouldn’t expect scientists to immediately have all the answers for a brand new virus. But that’s all I will say about that. Go ahead and have the last word. I have no interest in deflecting from op’s point with another tiresome Fauci-bashing thread.

The people who blame Fauci and our gov't for shutting down conveniently forget that the entire world shut down. They can only see what affects them directly. Schools and businesses were shut all over the world. Masks were worn all over the world. International travel was limited all over the world. Vaccines were offered all over the world. But, but, but Fauci...How silly.

My landscaper isn’t Hispanic. We don’t own a lawnmower and have to place to store it if we bought one. It would just get stolen. My kids work all summer. One has a weekend job during the school year. I don’t understand why you are promoting this stereotype. All of my son’s friends mow their family’s yards.

So food corporations are liberal now?

Nice spin

California threatened doctors with losing their license if they did not go along with the 'consensus' narrative on vaccines and treatments.

We are not ok. My daughter goes to a private school. We are Ethiopian and in the last three weeks there have been 4 racial incidents towards her at school. In one incident, she was called a bigger by a classmate she used to be friends with. In another two incidents, they called her a beggar and told her she cannot play with them and they made her beg for money on the playground. The other incident outside, they told her to step back, her face is too black. Only the first incident in which a girl told her people like her are a problem and need to go to another place, got solved by the Headmaster. I am considering pulling her at the end of this year. She is only in 2nd grade and I cannot have this happening to her. She does not really understand so I am trying to educate her on racism in America. SMH. I wonder where all this hatred came from? We had no issues any other years.

Obviously you aren’t reading the newspaper, shocker. Florida was voting on loosening child labor laws, I have no idea if it passed because there’s enough sh-tty stuff to keep track of. But, working in a farm or doing manual labor, all night, isn’t chores idiot!

Oh right, the felon scrubs his own toilet. GMAFB! He uses undocumented workers in the vast majority of his companies. But, sure Elon does because he’s not a coastal elite. [stage hand waving from behind curtain: “They’re both coastal elites.”]

Honestly, you’re just proving the point of this thread. It takes a toll when Americans are willfully obtuse.

+1

I have a daughter in college and am encouraging her to go to Canada, England, Switzerland for grad school. I know there are great US schools, but why stay to see Trump ignore the Constitution and be put in a 3rd term. Project 2025 truly wants women to not be able to vote, own bank accounts, get a job, ect.

OMG, just stop with your nonsense. Do you have any idea how stupid you sound?

I agree with all of the above - but none of it has anything at all to do with Trump.

I am sorry that you are going through this. The encouragement of racism by our government has let to more incidents like this. It's awful that your daughter has faced so much racism.

It sounds like you should also find a better school. There is no way you should be paying for a private school and your child is experiencing such treatment. I would switch to public immediately.

This is awful, I am so sorry. I hope you talk to the headmaster again!

I am lucky as my husband is from the UK (just got his citizenship in January after 14 years on a green card) and my daughters are dual. We are leaving this summer.

We were out with our neighbors the other night (5 other couples) who all have one partner from another country (deep blue UMC NJ) and they are all leaving. We joked they could rent out our entire cul de sac to a cult.

It’s sad and scary. We all have kids under 12 and we can’t risk it.
