And the driver, clearly old enough to drive didn't have sense to prevent this. |
My kids accuse me of being Greg Heffley's mom in Diary of a Wimpy kid. I kind of take it like a compliment. She's involved and loving. Her kids make mistakes and she guides them. It's our job. |
Adults too, often feel protected and more aggressive in a vehicle. Then they road rage and insult someone who doesn't put up with it and it can turn deadly fast. "Drive friendly" as the saying goes, cause you never know how dangerous the person in the other vehicle really is. |
How do you know the intent of a random teenage boy acting in a situation you didn’t observe? Yes it’s still funny. |
+1 and I wouldn’t necessarily jump to it being an insult/calling her ugly in this day and age. But I definitely wouldn’t like it if my son was doing it and I wouldn’t like it if my daughter was barked at. At best, it’s a boy crudely trying to get her attention. At worst, it’s basically a cat call. |
+1 NP |
| He may have just wanted to attract her attention and could only come up with that in the moment. He’s probably a loser. Forget it. |
So, OP’s DD gets barked by a young teen in a car. Who knows why. My DS gets screamed at by older teen girls in a car (a couple times). Who knows why. I think all instances should be dismissed. But, if the younger boy does it, somehow it’s more significant? |
| It's funny to me that you're having Big Feelings about this. I got called a dog all the time as a kid. Once when my older brother was delivering newspapers, a kid in my grade who he delivered to gave him a dog biscuit for me. My brother somewhat sheepishly brought it home and told me and my mother. She just shrugged and told him to offer it to our dog. Nobody ever said another word about it. |
People don't have to observe a boy barking at a girl to know it's an insult. If it's funny to insult females there is something fundamentally wrong with you. Period. I hear you when you say it's funny. Now hear me when I say you are disturbed and need therapy. |
No one say one is more significant. Where do you get that? I missed it. Personally rude inappropriate behavior is rude inappropriate behavior. |
That's sad |
Um, my 15 year old son would never act like this. Parenting; its a thing. |
Sounds like catholic school kids to me. |
You’re funny! |
