| What is this about? My DD14 didn’t know and honestly wasn’t outwardly bothered, but I’m curious what this little twerp was attempting to gain. |
| No idea. But the first thing that popped into my head was the teen boy was being a jerk and insinuating that the girl was a dog in terms of looks. |
| Disgusting. Both PP and the teen boy. May he get punched for this in the near future. |
OP here. He looked very punchable. Worse, he was being driven by a grown man. If they weren’t in traffic and since I know his parenting is likely trash anyway so it would be pointless, I would have said something. |
| Even weirder than him doing it is you feeling the need to post about it. Who cares? Not your daughter. |
|
Assume he was insinuating the girl looked like a dog.
Which is a phrase he probably heard from his parents or elders |
Even weirder that you felt the need to post without reading the body of the post. |
+1 |
| When I was a kid, that meant they thought the person was ugly. |
| As a mom of a 15 year old boy I can tell you that most of the time they are just being extremely dumb, and it's probably nothing to do with your daughter but rather his effort to get her attention. |
The OP is weird 100% weird that op is so nosy. |
You seem drunk. Maybe take a nap? |
+1 I have a 14 year old boy, and he and his friends are often just super weird and awkward. |
It’s this. When he’s older, he will be the guy next to you, catcalling and revving his engine at the red light. They don’t know any other way to get female attention. |
|
OP, I understand your confusion and concern. If indeed the boy was seeking to insult your daughter then she likely cares very much and was well aware of the cruelty. Being nonreactive does not equate to unaware or unfeeling.
I am not sure the best way to handle someone name calling your child in your presence. Confronting that unchecked disrespect in front of your daughter might have felt like support to her. Or not. |
