Um no. I’m 27” now at would be swimming in a size 4. |
There are myltiple people here posting 25 and 26" waists as middle aged women. I am sorry, but I don't believe that based on the extensive work I do with measurements of very fit and active people. Even 27" is very skinny for a middle aged women. 27" would be an average waist measurement for a fit athletic teen girl. A few women with those measurements? Sure. But most of the posters on this thread being 25/26/27"? Not possible. |
We aren't talking about a 29" waist. We are talking about 25-26" waists. Unless they are Asian or super short/petite, a 26" waist in a middle age woman is just not realistic. |
Different poster (the one who works with dancers) There is zero chance that there are multiple middle aged women with 25 and 26 inch waists, unless they are very ill (eating disorder or health trauma) or asian. |
| 31’ 48 yo F, 2 kids. I’m prediabetic, recently gotten into diabetes territory but look fit. Need to drop a few lbs and get my waist down. It’s genetic for me. |
A 27 would be a normal skinny waist for a muddle aged woman. I would not blink over a 27" waist and did not even mention that number. A 25 or 26 inch waist would not be normal for a middle aged woman. Sorry, but I am correct and I have years of measurements to back up what I am saying. A 25 inch waist is unusual even for dancers dancing 15 plus hours per week, unless they have an eating disorder, in which case they might drop to 24". Below a 24" waist would be a cause for alarm in all but a handful of active young women. |
I’m 5’4 and thin, low end of healthy bmi, and my waist is 26. No eating disorder or issues with food/eating. I am definitely smaller than most women but I’m sure there are plenty of other people like me who just have a slim build and others who work out/ eat healthy and have similar measurements. Also, I would guess my measurements are probably very similar to what they were when I was a teen. Same build, same height, why would it be unthinkable to also have the same measurements? |
| Same 5’4” slight build, waist 26 and I would feel better if I lost an inch. I had 3 kids and became more skinny fat. |
I have a 24 inch waist. But I’m 5’1 and naturally very petite. I weigh 105 and am full of muscle because I weight train. Nobody would look at me and be “alarmed” because I look strong and healthy. It’s not that abnormal if you’re small framed. |
| I am Fifty-five 5’2 and my waist size is currently 38.5! |

I'm 52, 5'4, waist size 27 (maybe 26.5? My pants are 2 and 4 depending on brand/cut).
I'm near the middle of "healthy" BMI (120 lbs, about the same as I was in HS) but I don't carry weight in my mid-section. I have a rectangular shape and larger frame, like a short linebacker lol. |
54, trying to keep down from 40

| 37 yo mom of 3 kids. 26” waist. I’m 5’3”. |
What work do you do? |
Are you telling me that no one is 34-24-36? And that Scarlet OHara didn’t have a 17 inch waist? |
