WFH moms, what do you wear to pick up the kids?

+1

I am always “put together”.

I wah and only walk the dog most days (have older kids who drive). I get dressed in the am 100% of the time, as well as light makeup and brush my hair. I do either jeans or black pants and a sweater, flats or booties, or sometimes a lounge top and bottom, but put together, always earrings or a necklace. If you just get dressed and make your bed in the am, it will have a positive effect on everything.

What a waste of water to wash all that stuff no one will see.

Also, making your bed is contraindicated for those with dust mite allergies (many, many of us, so many that it's stupid blanket advice).

It's not a waste of water - you have to wash the clothes you wear each day no matter what. Unless...you wear the same clothes every day without washing them?

I like to look put together, so yes, I do put on a pair of jeans and a nicer t-shirt or sweater in the winter, but a lot of women just wear their "athleisure". I do not bother with makeup.

OK, so straighten the covers. Or do dust mites only dislike a mess of covers?

Dressing decently does not necessarily mean someone is wasting water. Do you not ever wash your lounging clothes?

There were times (when depressed and tired) that I would literally drive dc to school in my pajamas with a jacket on. Sometimes in a long flannel gown. I would just hope I didn’t have to get out of the car for any reason.

Pp. now I wear leggings and a sweat shirt and jacket. I come back to shower after.

Why don’t you get yourself together and put your face on for your man in the morning?

What 1950s nonsense is this? Putting one’s face on for their man? Please

I’m with you, dress for fun. I enjoy to wear lingerie under jeans or stretch pants with a sweat shirt or button down shirt. Wearing lingerie makes me feel confident. I wear heels and boots more than I do sneakers or flats. I’m sure the other mothers and a few fathers notice me when I’m at school.

Oh yes they do…. And not in a good way.

I put someone else’s face on. It really keeps things spicy.

Don’t kids take the bus anymore? I understand picking up very little kids from pre-school. But older kids? Is this a private school thing?

I wfh so in the winter I wear lounge pants and a nice top while I’m home but change into a pair of jeans or regular pants for drop off/other kid activities. Warmer weather I wear dresses.

Honestly when I notice a mom in sloppy sweats at drop off I assume she is depressed, so be aware of that if you choose to wear sloppy lounge attire to school/kid activities.

We live too close for the bus.

Some people look nicer in leggings/sweats than others do in jeans/pants.

It's the one-mile walk-zone kids we're talking about.

For the other kids, they are either dropped off at the curb by a parent who never exits the car so we don't know what they're wearing, or they take the bus.
