Lease or buy tesla? Considering future discounts as costs go down

Not really. If a car is well built and competitive in the market people will buy it. Tesla is well built and competitive. I

It is very likely that you own Tesla stock through an index fund or a government pension system. Are you going to change your investments (hard to do if you are in a pension system)?

Chances are 100% that you have paid for rocket launches on Space X through your taxes. Also you have paid for the DOD to buy some of the Spacelink satellites (because that has already happened so that Ukraine could have communication). Are you going to stop paying taxes?

You don't have to buy a Tesla, but at least realize that many people will buy one because they like the car and not because they are making any kind of political statement by buying one.

Many Tesla owners did not vote for Trump.

Tesla is not a well made car. You should talk to Tesla owner before making statements like that. Tesla is down 22% this year as people move away from it. The stock is a meme stock and will come crashing down soon.

Prices on cars will skyrocket, so buy now or wait 4 yrs. I’d go with something other than Tesla, First Lady Musk shouldn’t be encouraged to neglect wifely duties

Lease. Maybe it’s regional but you can’t give away a used Tesla in CA. The used car market is flooded with them as a result their value declines faster than other cars.

I’d suggest really looking into why Tesla as a brand consistently has the most accidents and fatalities.

1. Near instant acceleration and history of glitchy steering.
2. Every control is in the console forcing the driver to take their eyes off the road.
3. Up playing the autodrive and collision avoidance features without sharing that these features aren’t reliable at higher speeds.
4. Phantom breaking..ie car de accelerating without showing break lights, leading to being rear ended.
5. Catching fire when battery is damaged in collision, inability of drivers to escape when the car is on fire. The manual release is not intuitive and more difficult in the rear seats which is why the passengers and drivers burn alive. Reigniting of fire with battery being a safety hazard for first responders.
6. Difficult or impossible to repair after a collision so insurance just totals it out and since the value declines so fast you loose a lot.
