| He looks so bad. Reminded me of how my dad looked the last few months of his cancer battle. I am praying for him and his family. Hope he pulls through. |
| The virus story seems to have been a very elegant way to bow out. I’m so sorry for him and his family. |
| Neither he nor his wife work, they live on a ranch in Texas, and they have 37 children they homeschool. How far can his acting money really stretch? |
He has 6 kids. Not 37. |
Hopefully the money is invested well. Ranch life might not be sustainable indefinitely, but seems like it is a nice environment for now. Allowing them to focus on family at this critical time. |
I thought James was working on various projects? |
+1 he looks really bad. Like the father of a family friend we knew that died from colon cancer. Ugh this is absolutely heartbreaking. |
Not that it's any if our business, but when they first moved, they said were renting the ranch. And in turn, they had rented their gorgeous Beverly Hills home to someone else. I bet it's cheaper for them to live in Texas than Beverly Hills under this arrangement. |
Okay. They have to pay property taxes on the BH home and then make a little profit. I can't imagine that's enough to feed and clothe all their kids, let alone homeschool curriculum for them all, let alone cars for each adult, plus just ... life. |
|
Presumably the property tax due on the California home, assuming it’s not been sold, was baked in the rent they receive from the person living in that place.
In any event, yes they are probably in financial need, which is why the proceeds from the Dawson’s Creek reunion organized by Williams and others was for the benefit of a charity *and* the van der beek family. |

| After seeing his condition in the video, I am fearing the worst for him. They are such a beautiful family. |
|
I am so sad for him. I was so lucky to have mine caught early enough that all I needed was surgery and now maintenance through more frequent colonoscopies.
I am really hoping the best, but by the looks of it, things are NOT going in a good direction. And the worry he must have about leaving his family behind. That was the thing that scared me the most in my few weeks of terror. I say again, I was SO lucky - it was less than a month between the tumor being spotted on a CT scan and the couple days after surgery getting news that it had not spread. While I am not a religious person, I am sending him and his family every good thought and vibe I can right now. |
did you ever watch cougar town? That whole cast was so funny. |
If caught in early stages it is 100% curable so I hope it was caught early. |
