Strange. My circle of white Americans and various Europeans and Asians don't drink much, and we've had plenty of non-alcoholic parties.

It's hard for me to relate to all of you who think you can't have a party without alcohol.

OP, maybe you can ask the mother-to-be, as well as a few key guests, what they think.

people are aware that nondrinkers exist. the imp thing here is that you continue to be aware that you are in the minority. its customary for a host to serve it, doesmt mean that guests are drinking much every time

BS - any mother to be would gladly love to see family and friends enjoy themselves at a gathering in their honor.

No one wants to be at an alcohol-free baby shower. Trust me.

Please serve wine. These parties are painful enough as it is. No booze will make it even worse.

Get something alcohol free for the pregnant one.

Why can't you go one afternoon without drinking?

NP. It’s a party, for adults. People are bringing you gifts and usually having to play stupid games. They deserve good food and alcohol.

We get it. You are all lushes!

How do you feel about serving food at a baby shower?

I guess that would make you all disordered gluttons. Lol.

Do you want a medal or something?

You sound incredibly uptight. Perhaps you need a drink.
