Why are Christians insisting the opening ceremony depicted The Last Supper when it really was the Feast of Dyonisus?

Exactly. Many of you won’t be laughing on November 6th.

Planning another coup, or what?

If it's just a reference to voting, good job! Everyone should be checking their registration status periodically at Vote.org. You can also find information there for your local policies on early or absentee voting, etc. People have been unexpectedly removed from voter lists for no good reason, so it's a good idea to stay on top of it.

I'm all for you voting, PP. But if the reference involves pitchforks or tribunals, maybe leave it at home.

And, then,..... the "fashion show" that was featured was just as bizarre.

The Olympics is supposed to be about athletes - their skills and sacrifice to become the fastest, the strongest, the best at their sport.

This type of display certainly missed the mark. Big time.

So you can throw the next one.

Their arrogance has them in a stupor for now but November 6 will be a shocking blow to their bubble

This tone and rhetoric sounds an awful lot like the lead up to a "special time" of insurrection on January 6. Not very civil, is it?

In France? Unlikely. Very secular nation.

Here? Why? Because you think the DNC designed the opening ceremony for the Paris games? In what Q Anon world are American Democrats to blame here?

The American Democrats support the gender erasure and drag queen appealing to kids. The Olympics is a family friendly event watched by billions. The alphabet community that hates Christianity and wants to attract children is supported by the Dems

Good question. I'd really like to know why House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) felt it necessary to comment on this matter. It's none of his business and does not pertain to his role as Speaker. What the heck happened to separation of church and state in this country?

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Saturday blasted the opening ceremonies of the Olympics for mocking the Last Supper with a recreation that featured performers in drag. “Last night’s mockery of the Last Supper was shocking and insulting to Christian people around the world who watched the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games,” Johnson wrote in a post on the social platform X. “The war on our faith and traditional values knows no bounds today. But we know that truth and virtue will always prevail,” Johnson wrote before quoting John 1:5 of the Bible: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

They were fully aware of what they were doing. Those are not stupid people. It was intentional to mock and do something similar to The Last Supper with Jesus.

This is victimhood.

No it's not.

Try making fun of Judaism like this.
Try making fun of Islam like this.

You would see fireworks if they had targeted Islam, as someone pointed out in an earlier post.

You would see advertisers pulling out their funds, if they had targeted Judaism.

Jews make fun of Judaism all the time. Muslims make fun of Islam all the time. Go the f*ck outside. Stop only talking to white Christians.

Hey moron, you don't know me, so quit making idiotic assumptions.

Olympic authorities have said it was a depiction of the Feast of Dyonisus. How is this still a controversy? Do facts not matter at all to these people? At least one Christian pastor seemed to figure out what really happened.

Reverend Benjamin Cremer, based in the US, shared a post on social media which dispelled the allegation that the controversial scene featuring drag queens was mocking Leonardo da Vinci's classic painting and therefore Christianity.

The post reads: 'It was a representation of the event called the Feast of Dionysus. Greek God of festivity and feasting and ritual and theater.'

It seems as if Christians are very invested in feeling persecuted and disrespected these days. Seems like some people are actually just riling up the base.

NP. I assume because the person sitting in Jesus’ place at the table confirmed in social media that it was indeed the Last Supper?

What seems a bit silly are the people like you who are pretending that the sky isn’t blue. Come on. The gaslighting is unreal. And I’m not offended by it, I just thought it was about as artistic as a middle schooler trying to be edgy. Very cringe.

Yes, PP, and this took place in France. You know, the place that hosted the Olympics this year?

DP. Please explain what support for the LGBTQ community in the US by Dems has to do with how the opening ceremony of the Olympics--a non-religious organization--which was designed by French people in secular France has to do with Democrats in the US?

Oh, murdering satirists who mock their religion is “making fun”?

IT'S👏NOT👏ABOUT👏CHRISTIANITY!

https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/4797097-paris-olympics-organizer-says-drag-performance-was-nod-to-greek-mythology-not-last-supper/

It was about the Feast of Dionysus. ANCIENT GREEK MYTHOLOGY that predates Christianity.

This poster above is a perfect example about everything that is wrong with America's Christian Right - that they are CONFUSED ABOUT EVERYTHING.

They confuse Greek mythology with "mocking Christianity" when it has absolutely nothing to do with Christianity.

They confusedly seem to think that French Olympics organizers have something to do with American politics, Kamala Harris and upcoming US elections when they do not.

And now the poster above will probably glare and snort and declare that sane, rational people like me, who point out the obvious truths are somehow the problem, that we're "arrogant elites" when all we did is point out facts and truths. That the sane, rational people who side with facts and truths need to be punished.

MAGA "Christians" are frauds who wouldn't know the Last Supper from their own rear ends.

You need to take it up with the star of the show, then, who referred to it as the Last Supper on social media.
