Maybe they're leaving the commentary for the evening show.

Kelly Clarkson and Peyton Manning are horrendous at this commentary job.

When Savannah and Hoda came on for a bit I was so relieved. Too bad it seems they are switching between the commentary teams instead of just keeping to Mike Tirico, Savannah and Hoda.

Hoda interviewing Simone Biles’s parents was very cringe

What is the significance of the torch bearers costume? Is it a French cultural figure?

I agree, she asked Simone's mom the same question several times in a row.

This whole broadcast is feeling so unprofessional. It's like NBC didn't receive some script or info packet to go along with it. The whole time the older rapper guy was on, who is probably someone pretty famous, they couldn't bother to mention his name or have a caption with his name on the screen. Why do the country name graphics show the number of athletes and names of the flagbearers for some countries but not others? It's sloppy.

It feels like amateur hour on NBC today.

I think it's going to be some character from literature. The Man in the Iron Mask? One of the Three Musketeers? D'Artagnan? The Count of Monte Cristo?

Yeah, when they get to my country of birth, NBC always go to ads every Olympics. The People's Republic of Irrelevancy? At least this time they are doing a split screen.

NBC s commentators are subpar they have no clue about the French culture, major landmarks and nothing in general . What are they supposed to do?
Yes Kelly C sounds like a little girl who got into this role by accident . I am not expecting any good info from them, the comments they manage to are ridiculous.
They have a pro but he is stuck too in French culture. The stereotype about Americans is sadly true. NBC do something ! Hire a few people to lookup info in the background and pass it to the quarterback gent and chatty Kelly to help !!!! Please do something !!!!

Kelly Clarkson is just simply annoying as the announcer for the opening ceremony. NBC should take her off the olympics broadcasting.

Just vpn and watch coverage from another country. There’s no way I would tolerate watching nbc. This is the worst ceremony I’ve ever seen though. Not sure what’s up with the freak show.

We are watching live, in the rain, on the banks of the Seine and on the giant screens. No problems getting here other than the long security lines checking tickets, inspecking bags and wanding everyone.

The arson/subway attacks were early this morning, and mostly disrupted commuters going to work and Parisians heading out of the area. Spectators weren't allowed anywhere near the Seine to watch until the afternoon

The commentators are so dumb and not enlightening us about the cultural and historical references.
