Summer swim team too exhausting

My kids gladly put up with practice because they get to see their friends before heading off to camp for the day and they make plans that way. They also love meets because they swim for a few minutes, but hang out with their friends and older kids for hours, eating junk food from the concession stand. My older elementary boys seem to soak up the attention from the HS kids - and thankfully on our team the HS kids all seem really kind and like good influences.
