I broke up with her. She “thumbs upped” it?

I’m not a sociopath, we’ve been an and off. What’s so wrong given our history?

Breaking up over text is insane after 5 years. Nut up and do it in person, my god

They were on a break!

Women do not like to be rejected. They want to be the one doing the rejection

We do not know their age. It's.nlt.uncommon for people to break up via text today even after a long term relationship. We take basic social skills as granted but a lot of people today simply lack them..and further a lot of people suffer from anxiety. So I am not surprised at all.

No one should break up over text. Is cowardly.

Yes, I know I ended things so I shouldn’t expect anything but I’m just a little shocked. A thumbs up? Really?

I think she was marveling over the ridiculousness of a text breakup and was using a thumbs up to be sarcastic. I can see that. It might be over your head since this was how you chose to break up a 5 year relationship.

Good for her.

I broke up with her via text to avoid an argument and drama

This sounds like something I would do. I want to be friends with her.

Good for her. Tactless and classless to break up over text.

And yet you seem disappointed you didn’t get one and it.

Some other guy was probably balls deep in her and the emoji was all she could manage while being plowed from behind.

Good for her. She won.

He wanted to break up without an "argument and drama" so he did it via text. I think HE won.

Be the mature person. Ignore it and move on.

Then send her a bag of poop on her birthday.

Cheers to her! That’s hilarious.

OP doesn't feel he won and I agree with him. Girlfriend's response was perfect.
