What's the bare minimum you could spend on hair/skincare/makeup and still be happy with how you look?

My make up lasts forever. My mascara is probably over a year old. I’ve never had issues. I wore lipstick yesterday that I think was from my wedding 12 years ago.

Haircuts 2x/yr. Luckily I don’t have to color.

Retinol face cream from Costco on sale. Probably about $40 every 4 months.

I use cheap shampoo & condition but an expensive style cream. That’s probably about $30 every month or two. (Aveda Be Curly like a PP!)

I went years without mani/pedis but now do one in the spring.

I see my hair stylist every two weeks
Gel Mani/Pedi once a month
Regular derm visits for Botox for my face and armpit and facial chemical peels

It's important to me... Maintenance self care routine whatever you want to call it.

I do my own hair: cut (easy, I have straight medium length hair), color (loreal excellence). Honestly you could never tell. Would it look even better if I did it professionally? I'm sure. But I see ladies on tv who spend thousands and don't have better hair than I do! For nails I do the Olive and June polish at home, very easy. I do that once a week to keep it optimal. For skin, derm for tretinoin. That is just at my normal skin check every year so just a copay and then the cost of the actual cream. Makeup I use essence mascara and brow pencil, It cosmetic CC cream when it is on sale (it is now).

I think realistically I could pare down to about $2000 per year and still do all right, but I'd prefer not to.

I dye my hair my hair max 2x a year, $250 ea. I get my hair cut 2-3x a year $120 ea. My skin care is relatively inexpensive, idk exactly how much but $120 every 3-6months. My rx face cream is covered by insurance. No botox, havent purchased new makeup in a long time (bar maybe a $10 foundation). I feel like I'm already on the extreme low end, and besides cutting/dying my own hair I'm not going to be saving much more. My total is about $1k/yr. I do buy some random other stuff, like shampoo, but I buy the big aveda jugs when they have sales so I really only buy every 1.5 yrs or so. My hair serums I buy maybe once a year or every 2 years.
