That would be the most bethesda-like in terms of your peers. There is also Preston Hollow with Hillcrest in DISD.

Lots of good privates but I don't know how admissions chances are in mid-hs.

Other burbs have good districts but they are racist.

Notice that you describe the other burbs as racist, but Highland Park is a white, insular bubble. Hmmm...

I should have explained that many of the burbs are actively pursuing racist policies. HP/UP is not but it is baked in via the original restrictive covenants.

Nearly all of Texas is very racist.

Your statement is such a lie.

Gun culture. Beauty pagents. No thank you

Been to Anacostia recently?

Do they have beauty pagents? America is full of guns but Texas celebrates it more

Shootings in DC are not rare. Beauty pageants are in DC, too. Where do you live that there are no guns or beauty pageants?

Yes all of America is gun culture but Texas is a whole level. I live in Maryland. I can avoid pagents

I promise you can avoid pageants anywhere. I've never been to one.

I am very happy in Bethesda and planned to stay here forever, but I’m try to keep an open mind. Would you ever move to Dallas? Where are the areas I might like to live coming from the DC area?

We are wealthy, but have zero interest in social climbing or any kind of fancy scene.

I would never ever move to Texas becsuse of the politics and women's rights being eroded. Huge gun culture.

I said I liked Texas. You don’t have to keep trying to sell it on me!

Removing politics from this thread, Dallas is actually a really great place. There’s a very good art scene, amazing restaurants on every corner they do food right in Texas! You’re not constrained to Dallas county Denton county to the north and Fort Worth county to the west provide a lot of amazing housing opportunities, you will get a lot more bang for your buck than you do here, even though prices have gone up considerably in recent years.

How can you remove politics?

You can’t. Read up on some of the utterly crazy things going on in Texas.

It is absolutely horrible OP. Have you never been to that hot hell hole. Stay here and have your husband commute until your kid graduates HS. Awful , fake people with their guns and mega churches. Gov shutdown rights for women. If you're a Trumper, you'll love it!

I’m a Texas native. I love it though I prefer Austin to Dallas because I love the nearby Hill Country. Don’t listen to the hype about gun culture, bible thumpers or racists. If you actually get out and interact with real people rather than internet crazies you’ll find there’s great people of all kinds everywhere.

That said, Dallas can be a lot of fun and there are great college options for your graduating senior: SMU, TCU, Rice, UT Austin, just to name a few.
