Second to last house on cul de sac and people keep pulling in our driveway to turn around - how to stop them?

No. It's not.

Why do you think asphalt wears out? Any defect from collecting water or water intruding and freezing, is worsened by cars driving over and eroding away small particles and chunks. That is why roads with more traffic have to be repaved more often. Whether OP can or should stop people from turning around in their driveway is a separate issue from telling them that use doesn’t cause wear.

Park your car at the end. The bigger question is why people need to turn around when they are in a cul de sac?

I’m not sure if people get nervous and fear they would need to back up or what the issue is. There is also street parking going on for a few homes leading to ours.

This issue is living rent free in your head. Block the driveway with a cone or one of those kids playing "statues". They'll use a different driveway. Weird thing to crowdsource. There is not some magic answer.

This. Park a car there put a one of those "kids playing" things at the end. Or make yourself get over it. Our next door neighbor has 24/7 aides because he has dementia. Despite him having a long driveway and no car of his own, the aides for some inexplicable reason street park in front of our house instead of in front of his house or his driveway. It annoys me because it blocks the view out of my front office window, and to be blunt the cars are usually $hitty. But I deal with it because what choice do I have? I can't do anything about it.

Here is the kids playing sign:

I had a delivery driver back out of my driveway and mow down my solar lights and some plants. He let me know and I didn’t care so much because it was hilarious watching him do that, but this would be my biggest concern.

+1. Stay the f**k off my property. It's not a hard concept. I'd start with a sign and I'd progress to the spikes if it didn't stop.

Get a gate.

You're going to have to post a cite for that, given that many driveways have electric gates.

It's a driveway. People use driveways for turnarounds. You're in the wrong on this.

OP doesn't live on a cul-de-sac but a dead end street.

She hasn't explained why she gets so many people turning around in her driveway. Dead end streets are pretty, well, dead, for a reason. Is it because everyone visiting houses on that street can only exit by turning around in her driveway? If that's the case then she needs to put up barriers and manually remove them every time she needs to enter/leave her driveway. But be prepared for a delivery van to knock down the barriers at some point.

It's sort of like someone buying a house right next to the entry of a popular dog walking park and complaining about people leaving poop bags in her garbage can. It is going to happen, don't let it eat you up.

Just as other cars cannot block your driveway, neither can you. Emergency vehicles must be able to access your driveway.

OP needs to petition for her DOT to put up dead end signs. And check Waze/Google Maps. Something is sending so many people your way and likely needs to be fixed.

We have a a renegade sign in our neighborhood - there's a guy who wanted a "no outlet" sign and the county didn't / wouldn't do it. So, he just did it himself.

The MUTCD-compliant sign, u-channel post and fasteners are just a click away on Amazon.

NP. It's private property. You're not supposed to trespass. I'd you need to turn around, do it on the street.
