Crazy post. Mom is furious teacher gave HER (not DD) a bad grade because mom doesn't understand that you have to give more than one perspective on a subject. This made my day. What a kook.

If it is any kind of thesis based assignment - diverse perspectives simply refers to stating the counter argument claims and then explaining with evidence why they aren’t sound. Nothing to do with our social definitions of diversity.

I think you misunderstand the meaning of diverse perspectives. The teacher is
not talking about racial or ethnic diversity . They are talking about the other scholarly opinions that challenge the main argument /thesis.
