If you think the two things are the same, I worry about you. No one is excited about your sweaters. Your sweaters do not have rabid fans or a social media account. They do not make music. |

I think your math is off. Per the article you linked, to hear all her music is $48.
To hear all her music on a particular format which costs more to ship because it’s fragile will be $200. I don’t think non-Swifties are paying that kind of money. To hear her music in person costs even more… |
+2 I find this so off putting. I wish she would start a climate foundation to start offsetting all the damage she’s doing. Her fans are the ones who will live through the impact. |
| Girlfriend is making bank. If it were a man, no one would have started a thread. Good for her! |
Her carbon footprint is so low because she buys more carbon credits than she needs to buy. Did you know that? She's not on that top 30 list because she buys so many credits. Those on the list are the ones you need to be truly upset with. They are on there because they aren't buying enough credits and giving back. |
At this point, albums are collectors items. I've got no issue with Swift, or anyone, making people pay for them as much as she can. I simply don't care how much people have to (or more accurately, choose to) pay for unnecessary luxury items. The music is available to everyone via streaming, and OP, and anyone else, can access it that way. What a silly complaint. |
Her song “The Man” really has a lot of truths to it. Why is she always singled out whether for her music or her travel. Tons of male celebrities engage in the same practices. |
Because her fans single her out as being a role model for her “generosity” That is why she is being pointed out. Enjoy her as a pop star. Stop pretending she is a force for good in the world and just enjoy the music like most people do with musicians they like. Name a male pop or rock star who is lauded for being a generous role model for boys. Many give money away like swift, but she gets that press because it fits with the “good girl” model. Misogyny works both ways. |

To me the difference is AG's fanbase is much smaller and less likely to collect all 9 versions. Maybe some AG fan selects a color first, and then purchases it at the associated store. Whereas TS, for example, made her Midnights album cover four quadrants of the same clock face. |
I said nothing of the sort. |
