How did Lowell do?

This quote is not about Sheridan. Not accurate at all. Sheridan is super tiny, and they did well from what I know from my own kid and some friends. People need to calm down. Does your child have a good option? Great, be glad and move on. If you’re only waitlisted, reach out to the school and graciously ask for help. That said, I have not heard of anyone who got waitlisted everywhere.

this one is Sheridan. New admin staff makes it hard for them to get acceptances:
"At our K-8, got 2 into Maret, I believe 4 into Sidwell, 2 into a Cathedral school, 1 into Holton (which is far), and then a bunch into Burke, Field, and SSSA. Several others are headed to public or Catholic and one to boarding. Once again zero admits to GDS despite the majority of the class applying. Overall, OK, but not great (BTW, some overlap in stats above, but surprisingly less than you'd think)."
Sheridan used to be a GDS feeder from what I heard but no more.

There are many unhappy people.

Many unhappy in the world? Or at your private school in upper northwest where people literally have everything they could possibly ever need? Insanity.

Are those Sheridan’s results? Doesn’t sound like it with SSSA results. That’s not typically a Sheridan destination.

I heard Sheridan did well too. The new head is savvy and she knows results matter.

My kid is happy! Got a top school on their list but we liked all our options so we would’ve been glad for any.

It is not Sheridan.

No, these are not Sheridan results, this is completely made up. Not sure what this person is getting out of this pretty bad trolling attempt.

LOVE the new head. We toured and he is outstanding, enthusiastic and transparent. It's a lovely school.

Immanuel's curriculum is mostly listed online. Curriculum looks solid. It is an evangelical school, so good for some families and also not a good fit for other families.

And to preclude the troll claims, yes they do teach evolution and all the other science subjects in the normal way that any public would teach them.

I know of at least two GDS admits from Sheridan.

Sheridan has a great relationship with GDS. The new head is well connected. Last year was difficult because GDS was faced with over enrollment. Almost everyone was shut out.

The new head is a woman. But the heads of the lower and middle schools are male.

I would be extremely happy if one or more K8s (on either side of the river) would expand to be a K12. This is just what Potomac did, more than 50 years after its founding. There would be a startup curve to filling the upper school in such a case, but I think more than enough demand exists.

Congressional's buildable land actually is about the same as Potomac's buildable land, but all of the existing Congressional buildings would need to be replaced systematically with taller versions (which means $$$$$).

Buildable land is one challenge. A very wealthy interested donor is the biggest challenge of all.

Was considered at Congressional over a decade ago. Determined to be not feasible.

Not really - Potomac has 90 acres (plus multiple faculty houses). Congressional has 40 acres. Potomac had a strong history of going through 9th grade and was founded in 1904. Congressional is relatively newer and has only been around for 80 years. It took years of vision and tons of $ for Potomac to make the leap to k-12. I was actually there at the time and the first year they added 10th, then 11th and then finally had a full high school. It was seen as a gamble at the time, and the expenses were enormous bc they built the entire high school, hired the whole staff, etc and then let the school grow to fill it. They didn’t just open the flood gates and fill the 3 new grades instantly.
