My k-8 bombed

Anonymous
I honestly think the K-8s results are very, very, class dependent. One of my DC's K-8 classes ended up having some world beaters, with half the class having their pick of top high schools and 20% of the class going on to Ivies. Another DC's class from the same school had very average results both for high school and college placement.

The above is true.

It's also true that placement can vary from year to year on factors out of control of the k-8. Like last year with GDS telling nobody they essentially had no spots due to neighborhood issues (they didn't even tell the k-8's this info). Or whether a rising 8th class from the highly competitive schools has a gender heavy group - meaning few spots for that gender. And it's also hard within the k-8 if there are many younger siblings at a certain highly competitive school - meaning - likely to be fewer spots open for others at the k-8 who might like that school. These all vary year to year.
