What's the point of 4 years of general education, and then working for Starbucks as a barista LOL |
I think OP's view is like 30 years old. |
Why would they need to? |
Several IBDP magnet program grads went onto top schools and are majoring in business. These kids aren't dummies.
|
Why would they prefer an Econ degree? What’s the benefit? |
Notice Harvard is not top tier for CS. It's great for the traditional programs like prelaw and premed. That's why colleges like Stanford and MIT have gone up higher in the rankings in the past 20 years. Princeton also beefed up their CS program, and now they are top for CS. Soon, they'll probably start some business program. When I went to college in CA eons ago, Cal didn't have an undergrad business program; they do now. Why do you think that is? Several LACs are now offering business undergrad, and dropping humanities majors like English. Why do you think that is? |
Gotta love DCUM. Take every chance you can to insult teachers. It never gets old, I guess. |
probably more stats required. |
At least 40 years old. These oldtimers are still staying back in the days and delusional. |
That's not benefit. If the school have business program, it's harder to get in, but better outcomes. Better outcome is the benefit. |
Smart people can finish a PhD in 4 years and it is miles ahead of a masters degree. |
What planet are you living on? I know plenty of people who graduated college with business degrees and were able to get jobs in business upon graduating. A better analogy would be that majoring in psychology is like majoring in pre-law, there is very little you can do with it. |
PhD on what? There are ton of useless PhDs |
Listing of IQ by major. So I wouldn’t say business majors are “dumb”.
https://thetab.com/us/2017/04/10/which-major-has-highest-iq-64811 From my experience, many who want to go into business get a technical degree, an Econ degree, or a finance degree for their undergraduate. |
