Did anyone get to see him play? It was generating a buzz for sure.

My son says he has a bunch of Tik Tok followers, he was excited to watch him but didn't think he was exceptional. Lots of kids asking for photos with him.

What is your son's experience, background, CV and knowledge levels in scouting, coaching and identifying youth talent?
Just trying to see how much weight to give the opinion.

Feel weird posting his name since he's a child, but if you look up youngest soccer player signed by Nike, very easy to find coverage of him. He played with a bunch of teams his year and older for Flair out of Boston, but I don't think any of them made the finals - he was very impressive to watch and was extremely patient and polite with all the kids approaching him for photos and signatures.

Thanks. Using this info I was quickly able to look him up. I actually saw this kid hanging out at the Atlantic City tournament -- not playing, just watching some games with other kids.

I don't think anyone with 1.3 million Instagram followers and a Nike contract that's public knowledge is trying to keep anonymity, so I'll post the news article I found:

https://calciodeal.com/en/kauan-basile-the-9-year-old-santos-gem-nike/#:~:text=each%20of%20them.-,Contract%20with%20Nike,to%20accomplish%20such%20a%20feat

The article doesn't say anything about which club he played with at the Atlantic City Northeast Regional tournament, but someone mentioned FC Flair -- if so, I wonder what the connection with Flair is -- the article makes it sound like he's a Brasilian kid, living in Brasil. Maybe his family relocated to the USA? Or did Flair really somehow recruit a foreign national to play on their futsal team?

Anyway, I'm sure the kid is amazing for his age and I wish him well; the road is long, however.

He must have been on the 2012 Boys Flair team -- I see they made it all the way to the final and actually beat some poor opponent 30-0 on the road to the final - ouch! I wonder how many goals the Brasilian kid scored out of those 30 lol

I saw him play on the flair white team. But maybe he was rostered on the flair blue team as well.

I guess it depends on what his contract with Flair says lol ...

I see that local Alexandria boys won this U12 age group - congrats! Always good to see DMV teams win at these regional events.

Local girls won or were finalists in at least half the divisions as well, particularly at the younger ages.
