school for my kid - great grades, mediocre extra-Cs, okay scores

If he got a 1350 on PSAT he may very well have more than “okay” scores once he studies and takes the SAT.



I agree with this. 1350 on the PSAT is an awesome score. Have them study - whether online or with a personal tutor - and get above 1500 on the SAT. Write a great essay about something interesting about living abroad, Rigorous courses. Perfect grades. You probably have a lot more options than you think you do.

Any of the top Liberal Arts Colleges. I’d stick with the Northeast for a wordly kid. I am European and die inside every time I have to spend a week in the south. Trust me and avoid.
