It’s going to be Tim Scott.

Then Trump can count on losing a lot of his base because they will stay home. The good ole boys are not going to vote for a black man.

Scott if he thinks he can pick off “the black vote,” Vance if he wants to try to get younger, more affluent, or more educated voters. Vance is also married to an Indian woman.

Vance speaks fluent MAGA troll. Think you’re onto something. I’m rethinking my earlier bet on Katie Britt.

Sorry but people like Tim Scott and Vivek Ramaswamy are off the list.

Trump will never pick someone who ran against him in the primary. He's petty and vengeful like that.

It's tricky. He's got to pick somebody that will help him get some votes this fall, but if elected will then disappear and not be seen positioning for 2028 (he can't stand not being the center of attention). He'd be a lame duck on day #1, and it's going to become increasingly clear that with the threat of running for President gone, he'll rapidly become less and less relevant.

That’s why I think it’ll be Katie Britt

She’s been in the senate for less than 2 years and before that was a hill staffer!

we all either know hill staffers or were staffers ourselves — she isn’t too big/experienced enough to fend off primary challenges in 2028 even as vp

Unlike say jd Vance or stefanik or Ernst who if they became vp, would increase their power way more than Katie Britt

Britt is ideal

That’s an interesting idea. She’s a McConnell loyalist though which might make her not sufficiently Trumpy.

She's also from Alabama -- not exactly a purple state.

I still say Kari Lake. She's Sarah Palin 2024.

Didn't she just get her ass kicked out of the GOP Treason Caucus for even being too toxic for THEM?

edit... yeah, she's probably perfect for Trump then.

The POTUS and the VPOTUS get separate daily briefings.

I suspect that is one "kitty" he doesn't want to touch?
He won't choose anyone who will get more attention than himself.
