Dh Directed us to shovel deck - update

I hope she is calling a divorce attorney as the update.

When I got home yesterday I texted my family from the driveway that it was time to shovel. My husband came out and helped get groceries inside and I thought he'd come back out. Long story short - no one did and I cleared the sidewalk in front of the house. It's long as we have the widest front lot on our cul de sac. I ribbed the family about it during family movie night.

Now my husband is outside of his own accord, SHOVELING THE DECK. This behavior is out of character, to say the least. Have I started a shovel war?

Well, OP? What happened?

He shoveled part of the deck. Not as much as we did. - op

You all sound perfect for each other

So not only were you wrong, you did thrice as much work as he did to prove it. Damn. Take the L. Better luck next time!

All right! So now we know it is something that he actually cared about and he isn't a hypocrite.

And now if it snows again, you know exactly how much of the deck it's important to clear off.

We shoveled the driveway and sidewalk while he was at work.

So now we will see how important it is to shovel off snow from the unused, perfectly sound, strong deck.

Will update later!

I feel sad for your husband. This passive aggressive drama BS is exactly why most husbands hate marriage and their wives. You are a shinning example of what marriage should not be like.

I hope he's calling a psychologist since his wife is crazy.

And she's modeling passive-aggressive behaviors for their DD. Gleefully. And rushing to post to strangers about it. So, attention-seeking, petty AND unconcerned with what her kid learns from her about relationships. Though dad needs to drop the commanding tone, too. Outside help would be good (and I do not mean help with shoveling....) but I doubt either OP or her DH is self-aware enough to drop the tit-for-tat crap and stop the "I'll show YOU!" competition.

DH here. not OP's DH

but I for one would have been tickled pink to have my driveway and sidewalks shoveled after the snow while I was at work. plowing snow for a local college...

regarding the deck. Meh. a few inches isn't a big deal. but nice to have a clear path to the grill

for reference

10'x10' area of the deck with 10" of snow is about 520 lbs.

No one else is invested in this like you are. And why are you playing games and involving your children. Gross.
