BIDEN/TRUMP -- A Biden/Trump general election, if that's the outcome of the primary season, would represent a battle of markedly unpopular candidates. Among all adults, Biden's approval rating is just 33% in this poll, worse than Trump's low as president (36%) and the lowest since George W. Bush from 2006-2008. Fifty-eight percent disapprove of Biden's work.

Among groups, just 31% of women now approve of Biden's work in office, a new low (as do 34% of men). He won 57% of women in 2020.

He's at 28% approval among independents, a customary swing voter group; a low of 32% among moderates; and a low of 41% among college graduates, 10 points off his career average in that group.

Oh my God! This is horrible.

Biden only has a chance in 2024 because his likely opponent is a very weak, awful candidate. Trump only has a chance in 2024 because his likely opponent is a very weak, awful candidate. The 2024 election is shaping up to be the most disgusting spectacle in the history of the world. Seriously, how did we get into such a mess?

Yes — and the polls have said as much but partisans, especially the Ds, have had cotton in their ears. Sorry to disappoint the cLoWn CaR pOsTeR. If the Ds got overtly and literally tough on stopping illegal border crossings and classification of so many economic migrants as asylum seekers, I bet the polls would fare much, much better for Biden.

You would be wrong. Biden’s slide in the poll is directly link to his support of Israel. Biden when over to Jim Jones, hugged him, said the world is out to get you but I have brought you arms to fight the world…brother.

Biden's approval rating has been historically low for most of his first term. What has happened since 10/07 has caused a slide in average polling data but per the American people, Biden was already unpopular when that slide began. Trump and Biden are no doubt the most unpopular politicians to ever be the favorites to win their party's nomination.

What I’ve said repeatedly still seems to hold. Neither party has the full support of most people including those that vote for them. Half the policies they say they have a mandate from
The people to do is a crock o’shite. People may only want half of what the propose, and oppose the other half. Just because you win a slight majority of the popular vote doesn’t mean people are 100% behind everything or even most things you do as president. Gah! Even some of what you get credit for (good or bad) is the result of what one or more administrations did before you.

Way to much short term credit and blame are given to presidential administrations in their first few years in office- this is absolutely true. Trump and Biden are special cases due to having negative aspects of their profile as POTUS candidates that aren't policy related. Trump clearly lacks the integrity required for the POTUS position and both Trump and Biden can't be trusted as mentally and physically fit to serve as POTUS through 2029. For these reasons, the unpopularity of these two candidates can be attributed to much more than just policy differences.

The Capitol Police and Congress have to be better prepared to defend itself and coordinate LE with other entities. The hysterics are off-putting on many levels.

Trump supporters, "If you don't want me to punch you in the face, you need to get better at ducking."

There's not a good faith disagreement about whether Trump tried to use mob violence to prevent certification of the Electoral Votes. He did.

Agree. These two things are bringing him down making abortion not as big of a factor it once was.

I’m PP and I agree that these are also factors.

Do you believe that they aren’t prepared this time? Some of you are afraid of your own shadows. The bogeyman isn’t nearly as big as you think.

What are you asking? Trump tried to overthrow the government. Just because he was bad at it doesn't mean we should give him another crack at it!

Republicans just are not credible when they claim Biden is doing a bad job. Unfortunately, their voters listen to their lies.

Why don't more people listen to a wider sampling of information?

CNN poll just released on their network: “Do you think Biden legitimately won in 2020?”

68% said NO.
Anonymous
That is 68% of republicans, not a national poll.

68% of Iowa caucus Republicans. The caucus is designed so that only the zealots show up. Regular folks don’t want to be captive in a room for a hour or two before they can declare their preference.

Our candidates are reflective of our society. It's less Trump and more about us empowering him to be a candidate. That we could only come up with this slate of people we have from both parties speak to the decline of our society. Nobody decent at all! Not even Biden who needs to get out of the way.
