One more SoCal person. I have no ties to DC but I've learned a lot about it from reading this site. It's fascinating.

I think it is so weird for anyone from California to be on this site. I really do. I think you’re a bunch of weirdos.

I opened a fresh two-liter of Mountain Dew and bag of popcorn and settled into my gaming chair, the worn padding contouring perfectly to my shapely form after decades of dedicated use. The forums were filled with snowflakes today, just begging to be triggered. I swiftly posted a thread titled "Heal Care is NOT a Right!" and leaned back, waiting for the tears. Right on schedule, the offended masses began replying. Their wails of unfathomable sadness only made my grin widen. Amateurs. After utterly annihilating my opponents in a lengthy debate, I emerged victorious once again. I stroked my newest prized possession, a body pillow adorned with my hero J2, the pillowy form bringing me comfort. "We got them good today, didn't we my darling?" I cooed. My parents chose that moment to descend into my basement kingdom, a fresh plate of Dino nuggets in hand. "Thanks Mommy!" I exclaimed, not taking my eyes off the forums as I began to ravenously devour my chickeny prize. She sighed, no doubt wondering again when I might move out of her basement. But where else would I go? The arena of ideas was here, the tendies were here, and my favorite pillow wouldn't last long outside these walls. No, the basement is my dominion, and here I will remain, pouncing on liberals and slaying snowflakes until the end of my days. Except for 8 weeks in the summer when we go to the lake house, or the beach house. Then I have my own room on the private jet. The pillow is coming with me this year though!

Alexandria city, previously in DC. The neighborhood is called Beverley Hills but I feel weird calling it that.

My confession is we are a DINK household, so we are not “DC Urban Moms and Dads.”
