Where do you live?

Where do you live? I'm wondering where most of the posters on here live.

It's a tricky question until you think about the title of the website.

SoCal (for the last 10 years), by way of Bethesda. Born and raised in Silver Spring.

I think there are many newer posters who don't live in the area as the site has grown, and other sites have closed down. I found DCMoms when the site I went to in NYC closed down. I've seen plenty of posters mention living in other states as well.

Wasn't there a poll on this once? Jeff should do a new one. I live in DC.

I didn't see a poll but would like one now!

NE DC.

I'd be curious both about how many posters are local to the DC area versus from elsewhere, but also how things breakdown in the area. It's always funny to me when some posters write as though it is a given that "we" all live in the same neighborhood. Some people definitely assume "most" people on the site share their same background, income, preferences, and characteristics, and my sense is that this is a lot less true than they think it is.

SoCal PP here. I've been on DCUM since 2008, back when I lived in Bethesda. I would say that early on it was solely DC area residents (DMV). As time goes on people relocate out of the area but also realize that there's a lot of general information to be learned across all of the forums, so continue to read and post. So much of the stuff posted is not location specific, except for this forum of course.
